Yes. 50% of boxing is mental ... and having the right hairstyle, facial hair and ringwalk costume is 80% of that IMO.
No, while both Vitali and Hrgovic were winning their fights and were stopped on cuts, there is a huge difference between these two fights - Lennox was deadly tired and collapsed like a sack of potatoes on his stool after round 6 while Dubois was fresh in round 8 and it was actually Hrgovic who looked completely exhausted. But yeah, I wouldn't wright him off. He is very talented guy, not somebody like Makhmudov
So nearly 4 months since he said he will be back and not heard a peep out of him since. Almost all of the other top HWs have fought recently or have a fight coming up. Hrgo is conspicuous by his absence and inactivity. Any word on Hrgo ?
He's training at Big Bear Lake with Keith Connolly. I've seen a reel with Hrgović saying "ready for February".
Hrgovic underestimated Dubois' chin. He saw Lerena, Joyce, and Usyk hurt him and thought he could go toe and toe and eventually Dubois would quit. It turned out to be a bad strategy. Hrgovic hit DuBois clean SEVERAL times, but couldnt' hurt him. If he got a rematch one day, no doubt he'd actually box with Dubois like he did Zhang and would stand a much better chance. Hrgo isn't a bad fighter. He just had a really bad strategy.
Hrgovic need now fight with someone like Andy Ruiz or Jarrell Miller. He should beat them and comeback to game.
Come on Turki, bring him back. Hrgovic vs Mahkmudov would be a nice fight. Turki needs to get Jalolov involved too.
Meh… I’ll get excited after he gets with a good trainer. Not trainers who are just looking for a paycheck and don’t give two shits about him. I think Freddie Roach would be excellent.
Hrgovic does well against top HW but loses. People "he clearly has lost passion for the sport he should retire. Whats the point of him continuing to box?"
