    Fair play

That's far too regimented for me
Makes Boxing sound about as fun as injecting lard in your eyes :risas3:

In an ideal world I love alot of your views, but it's never been that way and never will in this Wild Wild West of a sport

I guess I'm numb to that

I think you analysis is spot on but we often misuse that term, "gatekeeper." A gatekeeper is below a fringe contender, and Hrgovic has twice now risen to the level of top-ten contender.

He's a top ten contender, just a flawed and limited one.

But yeah, good analysis. Just quibbling with terminology, here.

Haha sounds exactly like you're describing Parker. Although Parker probably has the better gas tank. God, just imagine how boring Hrgovic vs. Parker would be. I'd probably watch it just out of fascination. Hrgovic wins though.

I don't necessarily know whether we disagree on terminology...

I do, genuinely, think Hrgovic is below fringe contender - as I define that, he's not quite there.

Not particularly bad at anything, just not especially good enough at fighting any particular way to quite get there.

He's probably top ten right now... But I'm not defining who's a contender by where they rank.

It's looser than that in some sense - there's always subjectivity in who sits where, especially in edge cases, and when someone should drop or when they've done enough to get the nod to move up.

I think most of us loosely follow that kind of definition (even if we wouldn't necessarily state it in that much detail)...
But then lots of guys go by numbers or by what they feel, etc.

There's no set rules, at the end of the day - I think what I've suggested is better than most, even if it's tighter, but I guess I would.

The big difference is Parker has the better gas tank - and it's enough that he can, and has, won decisions at contender and fringe contender level multiple times... Hrgovic hasn't, Zhang aside, and Zhang is a very hit and miss case.

Parker would decision Hrgovic comfortably as long as he didn't come in heavy and fight like a ******.
