Croatian NBA players can be very popular in the US....why not a boxer? He needs to fight more and viciously KO his opponents; that will get him publicity. Would have been a boost for him to have defeated Zangh but he's not that good.
You are mixing apples and oranges, what matters in NBA is team, and maybe some superstars. Boxing is just you. He needed to fight more ad better, everyone knows that, and everyone knows that entire top has been ducking him for years now. He defeated Zhang - and he is better than hypejob Joyce, still not popular and never will be. But you are one who thinks he lost, how did he lost in your opinion? By K.O.?
Only thing people care in boxing is avoiding to fight Hrgovic - entire top ducked him. He is just unknow and unatractive because he aint american or british. I guess hypejob Joyce showed the state of boxing for the likes of you.
I see that some people are bothered when I start a topic about Hrgovic, I have a solution for them, don't read or reply, just block me...
Who's petty enough to block people, whatever happened to freedom of speech. Why shouldn't people be able to read or reply to whatever they wish?
No one's ducking Hrgovic....he's a nobody that doesn't have a belt or bring any money to fights so unless he builds his profile, no reason for anyone in the top 5 to fight him. Joyce Zhang was entertaining including the result, which I enjoyed very much. I don't focus so much on the bad that goes on in boxing, just look forward to the fights that are on and focus on that.
They should have fought 2 years ago: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/filip-hrgovic-vs-demsey-mckean.670371/ If it happens, Hrgovic by KO in middle rounds.
Usyk isn't British and he gets lots of attention. So does Beterbiev, Bivol, Inoue,Zang etc. etc. Zhang-Hergo was close and yes I thought Big Bang took it by one point.
He's not being avoided, people just don't care about him. He's fought once in the last 18 months and looked ****....why would people be avoiding him? So EVERY ranked heavyweight in the top 20-30 just happen to be "avoiding" him are they? Don't give me the giggles.
Yup, his biggest issue is inactivity. There are two proven ways of attaining popularity in boxing: 1. Beat well known opponents. 2. Stay active and win fights. Regardless of opposition, if you stay more active than the average boxer, you will get attention. And you need a lot of eyes on you to get opportunities in the heavyweight division.
Worth more than rematching Booker. Fighting two different journeymen is superior to beating the same one over and over.
