It was an early stoppage as the guy wasn't really hurt. But he really wasn't fighting back either. It was sort of a mercy stoppage. For the fans. So they could go do something better with their time.
The Babic fight is just fun tbh Bakole hasnt fought in a year you say? Part of the reason for that imo is Hgorvic turning him down Beat a top 20 opponent and it can happen? Same could be said for Hgorvic Lets not pretent he is some big A side here
I get it. LOL. It's up to Bakole to stay active. If one fights falls through, take another. I say bring on Babic depending on what the Hunter fight an be made . Hunter is ranked #4 in the IBF, Charles Martin somehow #2. I wish our sport would offer a million dollars for a tournament of 8 ( $50,00 entry free ) undefeated heavyweights, there just aren't enough quality journeyman / ringe contender these days willing to fight them. As a side note, both Fury and Wilder are really dimishing the sport with these multiple non top ten opponents in title fights. It at the point where being in your prime and undefeated in the top ten, it means your not getting picked for a title shot, but being vulnerable and just good enough to be un-defeated with a mediocre opponents means you get a title shots. Or being very old and you're in. This must end.
Very good fight. I like it. Hunter doesn't seem to be able to catch a break. For a guy who was an American olympian, you'd have thought his career would have been handled better. Think Hrgovic takes it though.
A fight between Michael ''The Bounty'' Hunter and Hrgovic would be ''real man business'' This content is protected
Lets hope both sides agree to this. Hunter clearly isn't afraid to take a risk, even taking fights on short notice and Hrgovic has publicly stated they want to go the IBF route and they have targeted Hunter as a potential opponent. Only issue I could foresee is if Haymon has other plans for Hunter. With Wilder with no title, no possible title fight coming and having gone off the deep end since Fury took his soul, Hunter might very well be Haymon's flagship heavyweight now and might want to build him to a title shot by feasting on other PBC heavies.
I rate both fighters and believe Hrgovic will win but Hunter fought Usyk at 197 pounds to Usyk's 207. I suspect Hunter was looking for a speed advantage and it worked for three rounds but Hunter was schooled for nine and dangerously close to being stopped at the end. Hunter looks a lot more robust at heavyweight while still retaing good footspeed so I see it being a competitive fight.
The decision should be made today, Hunter has already accepted the fight and Hrgovic has until today to decide whether he wants to accept the fight or not, I see no reason to reject such a big fight and an opportunity for a big step forward...
Glad to hear this fight is made. Hrgovic will best the pi** out of Hunter who will be covering up and had his hands full with a very old Povetkin and was whipped by Usyk. An easy fight to call. How's he going to feel with Hrgovic skills, power height and reach? This will be a win over prime level top 10 opponent. After this fight, he'll either fight TBA for the IBF world title ( I highly doubt Fury would risk his title if he best Joshua ) Or Joshua himself who will eventually have a mandatory. Either way. TBA for a world title fight, 2021.
