Hrgovic might have looked stagnated against low level opposition he was forced to fight. He might just shine now that he was given the right opponent and motivation to do so.
He was robbed and should have won the match. Yoka is soft in the chin and will be knocked out. Their amateur match was years ago. It means nothing.
Hrgovic will win and look vulnerable then we will have to deal with threads using this fight as proof that all European fighters are hype jobs.
The contrasting way they've been moved and promoted and the higher level of competition Yoka has fought in the pros is obviously an advantage for him but Hrgovic, who through no fault of his own hasn't been able to grow and improve as a fighter like he should have due to the limited level of his opposition, said, what with Croatia being a small country and not a boxing nation, that it was very difficult for him to get quality sparring as an amateur and he was often competing in tournaments with little to no good sparring in preparation for them. However, he was still able to forge an excellent amateur career for himself despite that so I think he should be able to raise his game if need be and there isn't anyone on Yoka's CV he wouldn't beat too. Hence why he had to travel abroad to find quality sparring in the camps of the likes of Wlad and Haye. I would've liked to have seen him in with a few Jonathan Rice (who fought Yoka) and Jerry Forrest level opponents to see how he would've handled them. That being said, he's sparred both of them. Wait...someone WANTS to fight Hrgovic? And they're not a no-hoper to boot?! 2022 is already better than 2021.
