I don’t understand all the hype about Hrgovic.

He can bang and he is tough but he got his hands by his knees. Doesn’t seem all that conditioned and I don’t really see anything else that amazes me.

Hrgovic's record aside, I'm talking about just as a head-to-head matchup, at this point, if Joshua fought Hrgovic and won, I would consider it the best win of Joshua's career.

Hrgovic isn't 40 years old and nearing or at the end ... like just about every name Joshua beat (Wlad included). And Joseph Parker and Whyte proved to be nearly total busts and not even close to what fans at the time thought they might become. Hrgovic is approaching or in his physical prime. He was a world-class amateur forever. And Joshua isn't the same fighter he was when he burst on the scene. He's got his own baggage now.

Beating Hrgovic is infinitely more difficult than beating Joyce (as Zhang showed).

And if Hrgovic isn't that big of a draw or doesn't bring that much money to the table, well, he isn't asking for much money so the "A-side" can keep as much as he wants.

I would be bowled over if Joshua fought Hrgovic because I don't think Joshua could actually beat him.

It would be a monster fight for boxing fans in Europe.

Like Zhang-Joyce, I think Hrgovic just beats up Joshua and stops him.

We're getting close to a changing of the guard with all these top heavyweights, though, and I don't know if Hearn would risk it.

That's why it'll more likely be someone like Demsey McKean, who was floated before. He's not a threat. Hearn wanted him before Joshua kind of insisted on trying to make the Whyte fight. Hearn went through the motions of making that, Whyte apparently wanted more than Hearn wanted to spend.

So Hearn will probably go back to his first choice, McKean.

Hrgovic sucks though. He got beat by Zhang imo. No way is that mediocre guy a better win than Wlad, Whyte, Povetkin or even Ruiz 2 at this point.

They need a heavyweight tournament at this point to sort this "maybe fight once a year" division out

Joshua is now a cabaret act dining out on a few old hits. Won't be seen vs any live dog again for me, especially not a younger prospect with any kind of punch or pedigree.

Hrgovic hype is getting out of control.

He’s 31. The one good fighter he fought he lost to IMO.

The fact Zhang handed out a shellacking to Joyce has painted him in a flattering light.

He overpriced himself out of Parker and Ruiz fights (which strangely enough would have got him the exposure he needs) by demanding the lions share vs household names.

Commercially speaking he doesn’t deserve 80/20 vs anyone. He brings nothing to the table

So I have no sympathy for him. He has went down the mandatory route and will sit it out calling people and remaining inactive and will get his shot in the end. And gets beaten by all of them in my opinion

    Well, Hrgovic doesn't suck.

He's the undefeated #1 contender in the IBF. He's the Olympic Bronze medal winner. He has wins over everyone as an amateur - Joseph Parker, Tony Yoka, Lenier Pero. He defeated Zhang (whether people like it or not), the current WBO "interim" champ, which is a huge scalp at the moment. And, even if you think Zhang won, it was a total war. Hrgovic is no punk.

Hrgovic is approaching or in his prime, and he's going to be a heavyweight champion at some point. And if Joshua does fight him and scores a win over Hrgovic, a FUTURE champ, that would be huge.

Record aside, he'd be a much better win than beating some 42-year-old former champ who hadn't won a fight in years or some ancient contenders. Hrgovic is still on the way up.

Hrgovic is a solid opponent for anyone. He is a good fighter who took everything Zhang had and came back to close strong. Him and Joshua would be a good fight, but too much risk for joshua I bet.

Can't complain about this if it gets made.
