This is literally the dumbest way to fight style wise. Unless you are blessed with a giant v tec motor ( heart) and torque on your shot like a shot gun. Then stop being a power puncher and mauler what ever. Do the basic keep the damn hands up and stick and move. Etc. That boi saludar was yelled at to keep his hands up so many times yesterday and he kept doing the same mistake over and over again etc. Was also instructed to get off the ropes and he made the same mistake again and again. He did have heart but questionable defense and IQ.It was frustrating because he had some fire he could have put some heat on his shot and try to take the Rican boi out. When he had him hurt and backing up.

That's why I like Casimero. This kid is versatile. He is not a pressure fighter he was made to chase rigo that why he looked horrific. But he won. Casimero is slick and I know people sleep on him sometimes. But he is more of a cobra and will strike on a counter and take your lights out. He is the best at moment unfortunately he is being black mailed and his career his career is being destroyed by MP promotions boss and his minions. He is held hostage in the UK lol. Well not the first he has had shyt thrown at him. I remember the Argentinain incident. LOL. Love this kid!!

That’s another problem with Filipino boxing that I have noticed. Boxing IQ has never been that high and defense has always been an issue. It’s frustrating that we don’t see Filipinos fight with more discipline and have better coaching.

@Flo_Raiden and @PinoyProdigy, I am curious as to what you gentlemen think about Vincent Astrolabio. He seems to be improving and last fight was a nice win over the aging but still difficult to beat Guillermo Rigondeaux.

Casimero has a unique style of his own and I’ve seen him fight more patiently and calculated in some of his fights, but he still has his flaws. The Rigo fight exposed his technical limitations despite the fact that he ran the whole fight. Casimero just kept going in a straight line.
He’s an interesting one though, it’s not often we see a Filipino with the kind of loud mouth that he has. I just don’t know if Casimero will be the guy to help reignite Filipino boxing.

I honestly don’t know too much about Astrolabio but I was impressed with how he looked against an old Rigo. Stayed very disciplined, smart, and he didn’t let Rigo be in his groove. I’m definitely looking forward to see how he looks in his next fight. He looks promising enough.

Well he was trained by the real MP solid team member Noynoy.O.G in Pac's corner. Not that moron Gibbons who just weaseled his way into the MP circle using Pac's name to promote Pinoy fighters without a license mind you. Nonoy Neri is an O.G member of Pacquiao's team and he knows boxing and was also the trainer for Casimero versus Tete. He knows real talent. Real recognize real.Astrolabio looks like a good boxer based on the eye test.

he seems to have really improved from a couple years ago. He looked really disciplined defensively against Rigo, something I didn’t really see from him before. Need him to have 1 or 2 more wins against world-level comp before I’m sold.

As far as natural talent goes, id say the most promising ive seen in this generation among filipino prospects is Jhack Tepora

Has fundamentals, thudding power and very versatile. However he's another loudmouth with poor discipline and essentially blew away his opportunities.

Japan has ZERO current world champions above bantamweight. From super bantamweight to middleweight Japan has many boxers and they're all failing.

The Japanese world champs are in divisions where most of the world has no boxers that small. For example at light flyweight and minimumweight, the whole continent of Europe doesn't have a single boxer there. And there's only a small number of boxers in those divisions so it's easier to become a world champion. There's just like 200-300 boxers there. When the whole world competes in divisions, Japanese boxers don't look strong at all.

Visayas have always produce good boxers. But from what I can see the North may have some qty these days. I like Lerasan and Llover. Wonder boy Martin. From Visaya. Hard to look past Charly Juarez and Meil Fajardo. As for Tepora he is fat and out of shape. Lack of discipline and poor work ethics? I would cross out his name out right now if he doesn't change....

A prospect I am really high on, Dave Apolinario, is fighting in South Africa and taking a huge step up. On July 29, he fights Gideon Buthelezi for the vacant IBO strap at 112 lbs. He is one of my last few hopes to become the next big Filipino star. I am confident he can win this fight by knockout, something he will need to do to avoid a robbery in one of the world's most corrupt places to fight in South Africa.

108-118 combined have way way more than as many boxers as HW, these are the divisions Inoue has dominated at (minus 112), he has had a higher competitive pool than guys like Fury and AJ.

Thanks for posting this. Miel Fajardo seems pretty promising. He has just the one loss and that was in his second fight to the, pretty good in his own right, ArAr Andales. He has some good power and looks to be able to fight at 108 or 112. I am going to keep my eye out for this one.
