I'm not suggesting that you do. I'm only suggesting that he is facing an opponent that he may be able to land something big on.

I believe that was due to some decline in athleticism, but mainly due to the switch to fighting inside a cage.

Or that people in North America had video replay and seen his LHK, I noticed he hasn't finished a fight like that since pride. The days of 1 dimensional fighters are all but done.

I actually think that physically he still could be a top fighter. I mean he looked ok in the Perosh & Barry fights, maybe not peak but more than capable of doing some damage.

But it's the mental aspect that I think is lacking. Mirko was able to land some big shots on Perosh early and got him backing off and Barry seemed overjoyed to get punched by Cro Cop, and this gave him confidence. I just dont think he'll get that with Shaub.

For some reason Mirko has this fear of letting his fists and legs go.

His punch goes half way through and he pulls his hands back ASAP into defence stance.

If he lands one solid punch on the chin of Schaub, the guy fight will be done for sure.
Sounds stupid, but I have this tiny little hope, that knockout knee from the last fight, changed his mental stay back to normal. I know it sounds stupid, but you never know what kind of effect a knockout can have on you mentally. :) So I really hope for a reverse effect.
I wanna see Schaub getting knocked the **** out.

This is such a sign of how far Mirko has fallen, that he is even fighting this dude and even worse people are questioning whether or not he will win  A few years back the question would be "Will Brandon Schaub leave the ring on a stretcher or in a body bag?"

Not a bad point. Mirko has to see/realize at least a little of what all us fans see and realize that he has to open up more to even have a chance. Depends on how motivated he is to continue his career (or go out with a good win) or call it a day with a loss here to Schaub

Schaub is 3-1 in the UFC. Two stoppage wins over Chase Gormley and Chris Tuchscherer, both of whom had losing UFC records at the time, and a decision over a mentally finished Gabriel Gonzaga. His loss is to Roy Nelson, who smashed him with ease.

I'm not sold on Schaub yet - even a shot Crocop may well beat him. Mirko's UFC run has had me calling for his retirement as well, but three stoppage wins and taking Junior Dos Santos and Frank Mir into the third round is hardly humiliating. He's still a better striker than Schaub, even if his speed and reflexes have declined sharply.

In short - I'm putting my neck out and saying that Mirko earns the decision here.

Schaub is garbage. His win over Gonzaga flatters him way too much. Don't be too surprised if even this version of CC knocks his ass out.

Even at this stage of his career cro cop will have far too much for Schaub

Crocop looked good at the weigh in. He's going to TKO Schaub.

how sure are you? cause the bookies don't seem to be...

my bookie is offering a 3.00 odd....(which means if you bet 100$ you win 200$)

this odd is really generous... are they overlooking Mirko, or do the bookies know something that i don't?

Yes they are overlooking Mirko Crocop - but remember Jack Dempsey always said "never bet on a fight." Anything can happen.
