Film study changes my mind about Fury!

Fury truly believes in himself, that alone can be a problem for Deontay.

 

Nothing could be further from the truth. A guy who loses his title due to drug use is not confident. He had to go through rehab for his drug addiction. He talked about his bouts of depression, excessive drinking and drug use. The guy is a basket case.

 

You newbies haven't a clue about him.

 

Wilder is still gonna smash him, and I believe he would have if Fury remained active. Deontay not having to worry about what's coming back at him will walk right through Fury's pattycake punches with the windmill generator cranked up full blast, and mow himself a mountain of blubber.

 

Have you ever had someone time you coming forward? With jabs that you don't see coming?
It doesn't matter if they don't hurt you, it breaks your rhythm. If you lose your rhythm, you lose your gauge of distance and makes it very hard to get shots off. I understand it may only take one punch from Wilder, but that's easier said than done.

Just because Fury doesn't have power, doesn't mean he won't throw Wilder off...
Wilder claims there is no science to boxing, that's where he is wrong. When you are vs'ing B-C level heavyweights, the technical skill doesn't really matter so long as you have excellent power.

Fury has every possibility to embarrass Wilder with his boxing ability. As does Wilder with his one punch power.

Please don't buy into the idea that Wilder can just rush Fury and knock him out.
Fury is a big guy, with rated defensive skill (as he should) and great footwork. He won't just stand there to be hit like Wilder's last 5 fights.

It's worth noting that Wilder is often off balance when coming forward. Take an accurate puncher like Fury who punches at angles, and regardless of the lack of power...you may see a flash knockdown.

 

I think my scenario is more likely to happen than yours, for conventional fighters you are correct angles and timing might do the trick even with a light hitting puncher. However when a conventionally skilled boxer fights a awkward unconventional fighter who still knows what they're doing conventional results don't always follow. Especially with the equalizer Wilder has.

 

Oh you're absolutely right! Fury will have to raise his performance to world level again when fighting Wilder.
I wasn't originally a fan of Fury, and he still leaves a bitter feeling when I watch him fight, but he fights to the level of his opposition. Which can be frustrating...

Often throughout his professional career he has scaled his performance to the man in the other corner.
He can fight against a C grade heavy like he did in the weekend & look shite. I, like a few others believe Fury used the fight in the weekend as a glorified sparring session. Putting in rounds and testing himself, against himself. You can see the changes in the fight between rounds 6-12.

For a man that comes across as less than bright, inside of the ring he actually has quite a high IQ. I see this as one of the game changers come fight night with Wilder.

I've said it before, and i'll say it again. Wilder has one way to beat Fury. Fury has many different ways to beat Wilder.

Yeah, Wilder did say that unfortunately. In his own words 'The science of boxing is a myth'...

Being in the ring myself, I know what it's like being timed coming forward, it's incredibly frustrating!
I have seen multiple posts about the lack of respect Wilder will have for Fury, but i'm not so sure that will be the case. But hey, that's just my opinion.

You might be spot on in regards to the unconventional style of Wilder... I guess we will see.

 

Im picking DW to win the fight and ive never been a fan of Fury although recently ive come to appreciate what he brings to the sport because if nothing else he is entertaining. That being said if you guys think DW has nothing to worry about as far as Furys punching power goes you are being naive. A man who is that big can hurt you bad if he connects with the right shot.

 

If Fury were ready, I would pick him to win. Wilder is a technically flawed fighter.

If you can't see that Fury is pushing his punches and they are pretty weak, you must be blind and forgot how quality HWs throw them.

 

Back then Fury's punches were a bit snappier, enough to cause glass chin and ***** heart Wlad problems.
