Moorer looks pretty bad in insisting on that.

But hey, I never thought much of MM to begin with. I thought the first Holyfield was at best a fluke.

I'd be very disappointed in you if you hadn't, Mark.

And there could be a film that shows that Ali , Lyle and Young all DID throw lucky punches.
So really George was scientifically the best ever.

Foreman landed about 6 punches in a row but there was a right hand that froze Moorer that brought the follow up KO shot

I subscribe to this. You gotta be a man to stand in there and fire.
If Foreman was lucky it was in getting the fight against Moorer for the title. Moorer was the legitimate champion too. Foreman had lost Morrison and I thought he was through. Holyfield gets upset Moorer.
    That was good fortune.

That's what I thought. The penultimate right seemed to really daze MM. The last was just dead on the button, total finisher supreme.

George was in a fight he was obviously losing, on is way to a career end, when he finally found the punches. That's all that matters.

The win shot George up over Frazier and Liston (and he was already a top 10 ATG). That's saying a lot, because those two other guys were great, too.

I think George had gained alot of respect by his effort against Evander Holyfield. Maybe the loss to Morrison started to have people question whether he should continue.

Who really thinks it was a lucky punch? Moorer fought a very stupid fight and got tagged with a number of hard rights (and just barely avoided several others) throughout the fight. He stood around in Foreman's punching range and circled to his left, ignoring Atlas' instructions to move in and out, and to circle to his right, away from Foreman's right. Gil Clancy picked up on this by the second round (if not sooner). Moorer wasn't outboxing Foreman, he was using his speed to outfight him. Foreman got increasingly desperate and winged some terrible looking punches at Moorer before eventually catching and stopping him with a punch he had already landed numerous times in the fight. Not sure if Moorer was out of shape, unfocused, overconfident, or all of the above, but Foreman outlasted him and punished him for fighting such a strategically unsound fight.

All that being said, the idea that Foreman was playing some kind of high-level chess in setting up Moorer seems like malarkey to me. He was just hitting what Moorer gave him.
