Well he wasnt active enough to beat Pascal, and pascal can fight for only 6 rounds and throwing 10 punches per rounds!!! I think and i hope HOpkins wins!

 

Logically dawson can win this, I just feel hopkins makes it close and edges him, its what I hope as well.
This is one of those fights by the way where it might be smart to put a little money on the draw.

 

People are forgetting that styles make fights. Just like Pavlik dominated Taylor doesn't mean Pavlik dominates Hopkins.

well said. this was a ten unit fight for me but once manny left there was no way i was going to bet on this head case.

that being said, hard to bet on a 46-year-old coming off 24 competetive, physically-draining rounds in less than 10 months.

 

I'm very tempted to change my pick from Hopkins to Dawson after rewatching the Pascal and Jones fights. Pascal's a good fighter and I give Hopkins credit for beating him, but just looking at B-Hop from a physical standpoint in those three fights, he's pretty badly faded. The reflexes, reaction times, and legs are going fast. He looks sloppy and vulnerable at times...and when could you have said that about Bernard Hopkins? It's going to be tough to beat somebody who's a pretty good technical fighter with a lot of size, range, and good physical gifts.

 

As I said before, it will be like Tarver all over again.

 

I'm surprised at the poll results for this one. The forum has Hopkins as better than 2-1 favorite. I think Dawson beats Hopkins here and if Dawson pushes it he pulls away towards the end of the fight and wins comfortably. However, pushing himself isn't one of Dawson's strengths so I think he wins a close decision. Somewhere around 7-5, 7-4-1, etc.

 

Hopkins will show his age this time around. Just watch him get real dirty when he realizes he can't keep up with Dawson.

 

Dawson really ought to win this fight. He has the physical tools and the cautious style to minimize Hopkins' opportunities. However, I just don't know where he is mentally at this point in his career. Nothing would surprise me.

I'm going Dawson, taking some rounds by punching into Hopkins' gloves and circling while Hopkins follows him around the ring ineffectively.

Bad fight, but sort of an interesting chess match to see what the two men have left, for different reasons.

 

Dawson he's just the type of boxer that gives Hopkins troubles. He has fast hands he can throw combos goes to the body isn't there to be hit and can jab. He has the ability to outbox Hopkins and make him look old in the process. I see Dawson getting the best of Hopkins and Bernard trying to rough up foul his way through the fight when he realizes Dawson has elite level ability and possibly getting DQed. At the end of the day Dawson is a bad match up stylistically for him at this point.
