Wilder landed 75 out of 250 overall punches: 30% Szpilka landed 63 out of 230 overall punches: 27% Jabs: Wilder landed 36 of 158: 23% Szpilka landed 25 of 124: 20% Power punches: Wilder landed 39 of 92: 42% Szpilka landed 38 of 106: 36% So, Wilder out jabbed by 3%, out power punched him by 6%, and outpunched him overall by 3%. But somehow, due to the arbitrary baseless ****ysis of Wilder haters, Szpilka was taking him to school right up until he got KTFO.
I only got to see the end so I can't really comment but I'm surprised at how close those numbers are...which is probably why I'm guessing people are being critical of Wilder. "out jabbed by 3%" is not exactly great.
Sometimes you can't take compubox statistics at face value unless they're completely one sided. When the statistics are relatively close, you have to wonder about the distribution of punches per round. Since fights are scored on a round by round basis, you shouldn't put too much stock in compubox statistics when the numbers between the fighters are quite close.
The fight was pretty close I will concede that. I think Szpilka's southpaw stance and mobility was giving Wilder problems finding his range for sure. But by no stretch of the imagination was he getting took to school like some people have said. And he was never really in trouble in the fight either. I honestly thought he might be gassing later on, but if you can land a bomb like that you can be to gassed.
LOL You clowns argue about Compubox numbers for a JOKE MISMATCH? I didn't even watch this travesty. You guys are so braindead the promoters serve you this joke of a fight and you even argue about it
