First off, props to Mayweather for a clear and decisive win. He and his team came with a great strategy and they pulled it off.

Now, as a fight and an event, not since De la Hoya v. Mayweather have I been so underwhelmed and disappointed, literally yelling at my TV screen, begging Mosley to throw a goddamn punch!

I'm not a fan of Mayweather's defensive style nor of Shane's so-called 'power boxing' style. I'm a Duran, Hagler, Pryor, Chavez type of guy. I recognize and accept their talent and skills and thought that we'd at least get a good scrap 'cause of the matchup.

You'd have to be a hard core Mayweather fan or a degenerative boxing nut in order to find anything compelling last week.

Here's what I learned....When Mayweather retires, HE and his team need to expand their promotional company 'cause they can matchmake! They've got this down to a science it seems....Mosley is finished....Mayweather is gonna continue to eat up guys who won't pull the trigger and avoid the ones who do.....Mosley and Nazim's strategy of boxing with a younger, faster, and better defensive fighter was an utter failure from day 1......Mayweather IS NOT getting better. He's peaked and trigger-happy southpaws and/or maulers who eat his feather-fisted shots for breakfast will KO him!

If I wasn't banned I was going to give Mayweather his just dues.

Excellent performance. Really good fight. Mayweather's best win north of 135.

Stupid thread Noob. Everybody always has excuses after Mayweather dominates somebody. Haters are never gonna be satisfied.

People need to understand that Mayweather is multidimensional and can change his style inorder to make a fight play out that way. It really is comical that all these fighters were too small or grew old overnight when they faced Floyd. Hes just really good at making guys look really bad if he can keep the fight on his terms. Fighters may win rounds but you see for the most part the rounds that Mayweather usually banks all look alot like they did against Mosley, one sided.

Many fans saw what they hadn't seen in a while, Mayweather get in a little trouble, hang tough and take over the match. Floyd completely imposed his will and style on Shane and dominated from round three on. Another showcase of the Mayweather skills.

That being said, Shane never attempted anything close to the attack he let loose in round two for the rest of the fight despite being desperately behind. Shane was gassed when he came back to the corner after round three which is surprising as Mosley is usually very well conditioned.

Though Floyd was the overwhelming favorite, going into the fight many felt that Shane could add some drama to the fight and possibly put Mayweather in trouble if he landed cleanly. With the exception of round two, nothing of the sort happened. Shane boxed (guess that is what you call it) from the outside, was squared up and open for straight rights and pretty much just absorbed whatever Mayweather decided to land on him. This a far cry from the fighter we had HOPED to see in the ring! The one that took Cotto to the wire, that took everything De La Hoya had and battled back punch for punch. If Mosley wasn't going to fight him (which is seemed) then there isn't much to analyze.

I am hoping for Pacquiao to work the drug testing issues out and lets see the two best fighters do their job. THIS is the fight the boxing fans are clamoring for!

I think you nailed it right there. The argument is going to be made that Mayweather is responsible for taking Mosley out of the fight and that's fair enough. However, Mosley just refused to back him up and fight him. Only he knows the reason why...But given the lack of any apparent desire or will to win--that's how I saw it, at least--and the obvious disabilities,ie, 38 yo, lack of a jab, wrong strategy, etc., that Shane's challenge presented, I agree with you that not too much should be made out of this victory.
