I didn't see the fight. Can't wait ! Regarding being saved by the bell: While the rules are often stated as saying you can't be saved by the Bell in any round, the truth is, you can. There are two things the knocked down fighter must do to continue. 1) He must beat the count of 10. 2) He must be , in the ref's opinion, in a state to continue the fight. When the KD comes mid round, both conditions must be satisfied. (When Tarver stopped Jones, Jones was up between 8 and 9, satisfying condition (1) But he was, in the ref's (correct) opinion, in no state to continue. He failed to meet condition (2) ) When the KD comes after 2:50 of the round, only condition (1) must be satisfied. If the Knocked Down fighter is back on his feet, on steady legs and hands clear of the canvas, it doesn't matter as to the ref's opinion on whether he could continue. The round/fight is over. So while the bell won't save you from the count, it can save you from the ref's opinion on the wisdom of you continuing.
I think the case is very clear and not open to any interpretation once the facts are established, ie. what happened when, with video + audio evidence, and once the rules pertaining to the events that took place are read and understood. Unfortunately, most of the people who thought there was a controversy weren't aware of the rules, nor of the fact. Andrade being a very popular fighter, they let their emotions get the better of them, distorting their view of the situation even more. Never mind. It happens.:good
To stay on topic, the final word is : "Now Bute has a shadow on him. Will he be more powerful with a little bit of the dark side in his tool box ? I don't know, but it won't hurt him. He was too much of a nice guy anyway..." This content is protected
Deserved to win ?????? And mentioning the ref. Andrades chance was to catch Bute and hit him hard on the inside. The ref. let Bute hold and grab all night long. Bute fought a Ottke fight. Throws 2-3 times and holds - throws 2-3 times and holds. 2-3 times Bute was hurt, and the ref called a timeout to explain Andrade not to hit so hard!!!!! The hole world could see that. When Andrade slipped and felled, the ref saw is as a kd!!!!!! And then the 12. and finally round !!!!!! If we only should blame the ref, but then Bute seems to glance and then his fans :verysad :verysad
When the KD comes mid round, you cannot be saved by the bell, because either you are counted out well before the three minute bell, or you beat the count and the fight resumes, long before the three minute bell.
why dont you stop replying to him and start replying to me? i've labelled you and challenged and the only reason you cant challenege me one on one is because i'm too smart and quick for you. yuo pick your fights too easily, my friend, but i'm sure you'll find a dismissive comment complete with emotes to shrug it all off. you only live once...just remember that next time you post.
The ref let Andrade attack with his head and elbows on the inside too! The ref let Andrade throw Bute into the ropes! The ref let Andrade engage after the break before he ordered them to resume fighting, when Bute didn't expect it! The ref stopped Bute from clinching in the last round, when he was holding on for dear life, letting Bute lose his balance and allowing Andrade to take a clean shot at him...How many points did the ref take off from Andrade for using his head and elbows? NONE! How many warnings did the ref give Bute for clinching excessively? TWO!
I get what you're saying and that's one down-side by the internet. I'm not talking about Decebal, though - I don't know his online style well enough to judge him in any way - he made me change my mind with a fact and that's cool. If people behave like jerks it falls back on only themselves and if it's in my direction and I find it too much I just ignore the jerk.
he relies on what he says online to be perceived as confidence - but he goes about it the wrong way. it only works on people who are young and dont know how to react on it. he also does it because the person he is over the net is not who he is in real life. if any view that hes put forward made you change your point of view then tell me (in context) and i'll reply to it.
Ok --- Bute won. But with the Referee's help. And thats before the knock down. Andrade had Bute out on his feet and the Ref was practically blocking Andrade's pursuit to finish Bute. He practically separated them everytime there was contact resembling a clinch and not permiting any in fighting, especially during the last few rounds. If you watch the last round, the Referee's actions appear so obvious that he was protecting Bute. I thought that he was physically going to help Bute to his feet so as he could finish the fight. It was a 12 round fight and Bute deserved lose. What he did earlier doesnt matter if he cant finish. Bute was out on his feet. He was a moment away from getting aid out where you could have counted to 500 and he would be still down. Andrade was fighting 2 guys --- not one. That sounds like cheating.
There are two arguments going on here. One is whether or not Andrade was robbed through crooked means. That has been soundly and soberly refuted and backed up with the IBF rulebook and video evidence. I think that horse is dead. The other argument is whether or not the ref showed preferential treatment to Bute. This one is harder to argue simply because it requires two camps with opposing interpretations of the fight to come to a conclusion. Personally, I have no stake in the matter. I like Andrade and last Saturday was the first time I ever saw Bute fight. So I'm not interested in backing either. However, I will say that I wasn't struck with the ref giving preferential treatment to either during the fight. Sure, there were some weird moments. Bute grabbed at Andrade's legs a few times with no call from the ref. Andrade used his head for more than thinking (more like a battering ram) a few times as well. As for the ref breaking up close in fighting, I'd honestly have to watch the fight again. But keep in mind that there are other possible reasons besides hometown cooking to explain a ref's offciating. Some refs are more hands on than others. Some give warning right away. Others let the fighters go at it. Just as fighters have styles, so do refs. However, I think that we can say without hesitation that there was no corruption at play, at least in relation to the rules. The ref followed the IBF procedures pretty well. Thankfully as the days have passed, people are finally starting to understand this.
how can you post something like this now and try to tell me that it is "ladies night" in my last post? you've packed a lot up here but when you post baby**** you'll be treated like it too. this is a much better post.
By separating them in the clinches Bute initiated to stop Andrade from punching him and to help himself to remain on his feet, the referee helped Andrade, not Bute! Outside the clinch, Bute was losing his balance and Andrade had a clean shot at him. So...I'm afraid I disagree that the ref was helping Bute here. Why did he deserve to lose? Because he was in the process of getting knocked down in the final round? He did get knocked down. He beat the count and he DID finish the fight on his feet. He needn't have been capable of continuing to fight a 13th round, because there wasn't a 13th round. He just needed to beat the count after the KD which occured 2 seconds before the three minute period. He fought hard and got back on his feet within 8 seconds of the KD. He beat the count. He deserved to hear the final bell. Having dominated the fight clearly, he deserved to win on the cards too. A fight is 12 rounds, not just the last round. Bute won 9-10 of the rounds. Andrade won 2-3. He almost KOed Bute, but almost isn't enough. :good
No points and 2 warnings is the same right - no points deducted to either fighter. Just ask the hole boxing world why Andrade use his head and elbows and the answer is: Because Bute hold on to Andrades arms and legs!!!!! Your are right about something. The last two rounds, the ref. stopped Bute from clinching, bot only because Bute was to tired to hold on and was hit on the inside. Please everybody saw that. "And Bute lose his balance" - exactly as i mentioned before, the ref. should have stopped the fight before the KO :nono
