I think PacD meant this would be the reaction in Pacquiao's home country when he retires, no?

    No...he means world wide.

Not even world wide, he's talking universe wide.

Hmm, a 1 dimensional fighter as the p4p #1, who's biggest victory of late was a gift decision. Either the sport is really suffering, or the true best in the world just aren't doing or have done enough lately, either way, not happy.

But still, Pacquiao is a flawed fighter. One of these days, his aggressive style and hard living could cost him in the ring.

. My face will get animated and I’ll fumble for word as I describe the human tornado in the ring. The speed, power, and dogged determination. I can’t think of a better monument to boxing’s appeal than Pac Man.

Think about this... When talking about Basketball you will tell you Grand kids in the future about the Greatness of Michael Jordan. What about if they ask who is the Greatest Fighter in our Generation??? Don't tell me you will tell the kids to Check Floyd or DLH or RJJ.

Jordan has his Greatest Highlights DVD collection. If you want to show to your Grand kids who Jordan is just let them watch the DVDs and they will know why he is the Greatest Baller in our lifetime. The same thing with Pac, All I have to do is let my Grandkids watch all my Pac DVD collections and they will understand why Pac is the Greatest. Nobody in this era has a better Great Fight Collections than Pac. Not DLH, Not RJJ nor PBF.

Original post was longer but rather pointless considering. I think you'll find that most people here differ from you on who they will show their grandkids if they are asked to show the best fighter of this generation. I think you'll also find that most view RJJ's highlight reels at least on par with Pacquiao's.

Either way, none of the boxers in this generation compare to Jordan relative to greatness in their respective sports.

I was proud of Mayweather as a P4P fighter. He's better than Pacquiao definitely.

How would people feel if Cotto, Calzaghe, Pavlik, or JMM was the P4P king?

Give your opinion on each fighterm as the #1 P4P.

I surely wasn't proud to have Mayweather as the top because of the recent antics with matchmaking and otherwise, but he was a hell of a lot better fighter than Pacquaio and could also really be 'the best fighter in the sport' undisputedly.

Cotto - This could work definitely, he's a top fighter who will basically fight anybody and impresses highly most times out, also very entertaining and precise.

Calzaghe - About to retire, not fighting anybody solid left most likely, best days behind him, definitely would not be wanted, but could have been a few years back under different condition.

Pavlik - A sloppy, 1 dimensional fighter as the P4P #1? What has the world come to?

JMM - Well, he could be a decent place holder, though it'd have its holes also.
