Yes, Sauerland Event finally send an official offer over to Sturm's promotion Universum - since Universum had always complaint that Sauerland is just talking without any leverage behind this is good news.

I think we could finally say that Sturm (Universum) is ducking Abraham if he doesn't take this fight.

The purse which SE offered Sturm is about $2.4 Mio and it's proposed to take place on July 19. Though, Sturm might want to get paid about $3 Mio before getting into the ring with AA.

I think on one hand, it would be important to get this fight done that Sylvester actually beats Castillejo (Sylvester is promoted by SE and Castillejo by Universum) and on the other hand that Lorenzo is paid a step-aside fee.

m8 i get that your german and a fan of german boxing and all, but its a disgrace that this fight hasnt happened yet and taints the reputation of german boxing. Hopefully they can counter that by making this fight for the end of the year, and install confidence in german boxing again.

Hopefully this fight will happen :D

I would be very, very surprised if Sturm took this fight. Abraham would KTFO him.

Tom_Tocca, who are you picking in the Sylvester fight this weekend?

Hmm a few days back I saw an article on the site that brings news about fights where Sturm said he wants to fight Abraham and would win all 24 rounds if they fought over 24.

This would be a good fight. Pavlik's the man at middle, but the winner could meet him down the line. I think Abraham would beat Sturm.

Very hard to pick a winner but I choose Sylvester to win by decision. Alot of people go with Castillejo and rightfully he's the favorite in this fight but vs. Carrera he looked as if he got old ver night for the first few rounds, even on the verge of being KOed but accomplished to comeback and KOed Carrera who fought he stupid fight when he tried to hard KOing the old man when he had him hurt.

When watching Sylvester's last fights, you can see that he become far more anxious and using his jab better and better - plus he has decent footwork and can come back under adversity as could have been seen in his rematch vs. Asikainen (still, he doesn't have the best chin but an improved double guard defense).

I see Sylvester following the same gameplan as Sturm used in his 2nd fight vs the Spaniard, dictating the fight with the jab, piling up points and circling around Castillejo - if his condition has improved as I think, he can win it.

Castillejo is showing signs of becoming shot, but I think he's going to be very motivated for this fight and he still has enough left to win. Sylvester's chin is a huge concern and I think an old Castillejo will be the best pressure fighter he has ever faced. His defense isn't that great, it's just good enough for him to handle crude aggressive C+ fighters and B- level boxer punchers. Castillejo is bound to land something big on him and once he does land, he'll probably finish him. Sylvester's chin is glass, he's been hurt by weak-average punchers 10+ times already. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up running for 12 rounds and won a decision though. It's 70/30 Castillejo IMO, but I'm a bit worried about Castillejo's stamina if he doesn't stop Sylvester in the first half.

It's an okay fight but does nothing for either's visibility in the US tv market, I'm afraid. :verysad

What? Sturm is feather-fisted and AA one of the hardest punchers at 160.

If Sturm fights a smart fight he can outbox Abraham.
