    Congratulations, mate. :happy
Get yourself down to a gym and explain to them your problems and i'm sure they'll be sincere..It's not like they're going to be pushing you in sparring and stuff straight away anyways, + remember, the longer you make excuses not to go, the harder it gets to do it.

Maybe just do some core work at home and stuff first then?
    Crunches, sit ups, planks etc..
Lower back is pretty hard to strengthen without the risk of causing further injury as far as i'm aware, so I think bodyweight exercises will probably be the best, rather than weighted exercise which you need almost perfect form for it to be safe, such as deadlifts.

I'm no expert at all though..
I do think it's worth going to a gym as soon as possible though

I replied to one of your other posts. Good to hear you've been cleared to resume some physical activity. Like others have mentioned, go light and don't try to take on too much too soon and suffer a set-back. Good luck.

ok.that won't be as stressful for your back obviously, as fighting out of a crouch:good

I think I replied to one of your earlier posts as well. I've also got a bulging disk in my lower back but boxing is actually part of my plan to manage the pain. My doctor said I'd just keep hurting myself if I didn't get into better overall shape, so this is how that happened. In the past year and a half my strength and agility have improved hugely, and I almost never have trouble with my back anymore.

Make sure you incorporate some strength training into whatever you're doing, especially legs and core. One thing that's been problematic for me is that when I get tired, I tend to hunch over, which puts more pressure on my back. So I've had to focus on keeping my spine straight during sparring and footwork drills. It may be something you'll have to watch out for as well.

Also also, I'm sure I said this before, but especially when you're starting out, if you're in pain, stop what you're doing and tell your trainer (and if the pain doesn't go away right away, call your doctor or physical therapist). You can mess things up even worse for yourself if you overtrain and/or don't focus enough on your form. I learned that one the hard way.
