Finally did research on Roy Jones. He actually did avoid most of the top MW-SMW.

What is apparent with many on here is exactly what Joe.Boxer wrote in that many havent seen the Michalczewski/Gonzalez match to see how debateable it was, yet you get all these fanboys make out that Dariusz was walked over which wasnt the case

DM clearly lost, and you Brits can't change boxing history. Jones didn't avoid anyone, he fought relevant fighters tenfold compared to Calzaghe. #Facts

Close fight. DM obviously faded. Fair point.

Calzaghe isn't greater than Jones because his resume is inferior to Jones's resume. I love 40Cal but Jones>Calzaghe.

Good stuff on that JD Jackson interview, Serge. I remember when you first posted that. It makes it a tough sell for fans today overrating the 93 Hopkins when Bernard himself acknowledges the growth he experienced from the Jones fight to his peak.

Hopkins did improve after the Jones fight.. Not debatable really. I just think Roy did too and would have presented serious problems for B.Hop going off of the first fight and the two vs. Calzaghe and Taylor. I think being fast with two hands spells trouble for Hopkins.

just as a talented boxer with a great chin and serious power may have always troubled Roy. Styles make fights.

Everything is alway AFTER the fact. Jones career is now judged on fights after age 35 and after barely beating Tarver lol... No Brit can change history and make Cal greater than Jones lol...

Yeah it's a shame I couldn't find the one where he goes into it in more detail.

    Spot on :good

I think Roy's always got a styles edge because handspeed disrupts Hopkins' love of dictating pace.

Except for nearly 6 years ago.

74-24 "Yes" says it all. That and RJJ's latest thud on the canvas.

A shot Jones who someone on here picked to beat Calzaghe and who argued with anyone who said otherwise that he wasn't shot.
