Finally did research on Roy Jones. He actually did avoid most of the top MW-SMW.

They weren't all 'Euro Bums', actually only two were 'euro bums' as you called them. Massive punching Benn and Eubank.
You remember Nigel Benn? The guy who put Roy's best friend into a coma?
I guess 'EURO Bum' got lucky that night.

So a green Hopkins not even ranked in the top 7 and a weight drained Toney is Roy's best MW-SMW Wins? I agree. The issue is that after those two wins, the fall off in competition is outrageous.

Roy shouldn't even be ranked above Carl Froch in the SMW legacy ranks, much less get close to the likes of Calzaghe or Ward.

So how can Roy be considered the GOAT at 168 by so many people? Based on what?

His mythical h2h abilities when he's beating the **** out of fifth tier Spainards?

Jones is a few sandwiches short of a picnic.

He had top ATG potential, yet outside of thrashing Toney, wasted his whole prime fannying around cherry picking instead of building his legacy. Whether it was fear, arrogance, his demented ego, being a **** businessman first boxer second, or just a fool is anyone's guess. HBO and The Ring were 100% in on the scam too. Countless fanboys were successfully brainwashed.

Now he's completely shot in his 40s and looking like a zombie, he's suddenly willing to fight anyone, happily getting repeatedly KTFO in horrific fashion. wtf? Is Jones insane?

And let's not even mention his abortion of a rap career.

Nah, that's not what I meant. I'm not a Calzaghe nut hugger and won't go to that extreme.

It is perfectly understandable not to fight 1-2 of the top 5 during your time.

It is not understandable why someone did not fight almost ALL the top 5-6 during his time.

If Roy had fought even HALF that list of ranked fighters right below him, it's excusable why he didn't fight the other half. The issue is that he didn't even fight a tenth of the ranked opponents around his mw-smw runs.

Jones' fanboys must watch his vintage, eye-popping annihilations of chumps Byrd, Brannon and Thornton, shed a tear and think "What if?..."

Or maybe they're so brainwashed that they're just happy to see Jones flaunt his stuff against any old bum.

To be fair who gives a **** what Bhop was ranked at the time, it was still Bhop. Bhop might have been ranked 11 at MW at the time but what is a prime Bhop ranked at MW over the last 20 years. #1?. Maybe he was green, maybe not. Hes still a great fighter and it is a great win.

N1gga go tell that 'cool story bro' to an mma fan.

Jones outpointed the #8 middleweight in the world in a tame sparring session, clearly pulling his punches because he'd broke his right hand prior.

His opponent let him get away with it for 12 rounds, yet he was a great fighter and this was some kind of great win?

You must think esb posters were born yesterday. GTFO. Noob.
