Agree an the thing is it wasnt a subtle little headbutt. He threw all 160 plus pounds into. Was a blatantly foul move.

 

Why didnt Floyd do this to Judah when Judah inentionally fouled him?
Sure it was a clear foul nobody disagrees, But the reality is Cortez did not make it clear to the time keeper to start the clock as he never instructed the fighters to BOX... which is why Cortez was looking elsewhere rather than at the fighters, he had to set the time keeper straight, and by then it was too late..
Clear foul on Mayweathers part in my eyes and of course because its me its mayweather hate right?
and this ****** has the balls to say he is here to clean up the sport...... yeah he's doing a good job of it.

Just as Ortiz dispels the lingering rumors about his lack of heart or resiliency against Berto, he pulls this stunt and fans the flames of the even older lingering rumors about him being a dirty ****er when frustrated.

The ref took a point. Justice was served. Then Ortiz apologized profusely. We all know what happened next. Also can't recall Gatti or Mosley headbutting Floyd to elicit that particular sort of action. Yeah, no possible way I can agree. It's likely the headbutt had little to no influence on Floyd's actions.

I have to agree with Caneman props for calling it for what it is....

However the reason he had to look over at the time keeper is because the time keeper never heard Cortez call time in nor did he hear Cortez say box...
So when your taking a point like that prior to him calling time in arent both fighters supposed to be back in their corner:think

Meaning Joe should have seperated them once again and instructed them back to their corners.

The way I view this and I am going to be real, Floyd knew what he was doing, he took advantage of Ortiz when Ortiz was saying he was sorry for the butt, and I beleive Floyd didnt give a **** that he could be DQ'd he threw those shots cus he was pissed, Not because he heard the ref call time in....

Again most have been here talking protect yourself at all times I hear ya..

Some stated well joe did say lets go... Yup he did.....

but he never informed the time keeper to start the round clock again, and by the time he did that the damage was done.. when that clock isnt running your not supposed to be punching...

 

The Problem is Joe did not instruct these two to box, the time keeper never heard him say box or time in which is why again I tell you, Joe was looking the other way.....he was then instructing the time keeper to start the clock...

By then you have already seen the left hook land before he is telling the time keeper to start the clock... meaning this was a foul committed by Floyd, and that Cortez failed to do his job as an unbiased ring official... Bottom line

I understand the whole protect yourself at all times, but when the ref calls time, you DO NOT THROW PUNCHES until you have heard the ref instruct you to BOX

I watched the fight earlier this morning, and I can tell you that after the hug and kiss from Ortiz (and the headbutt), Cortez DID bring the men back close and tell them to FIGHT. He soon after that looked to the time keeper to ensure that he has started keeping time. It was during that time that Ortiz thought a nice time to try and get an extra hug. Floyd gave him a quite half assed attempt at that, and then while seeing Ortiz back up looking at the ref (knowing the fight has again started), he took his shots and finished it.

The guy gave him a blatent head butt, and I don't disagree with Floyd's actions. **** Ortiz for taking it down to that level. I only hope to see Carl Froch do something like this to Andre Ward, and his cheap ass style of holding and head butts.

I do feel that Floyd was a bit quick on hating on Merchant, and he could have responded just like he said to later interviews. But I also agree that Mayweather has really never like Merchant for not giving him credit he deserves. Mayweather's anger was seen in his eyes when he threw those punches, because why try to cuddle with some ******* who just made the game dirty?

Ortiz not only gave false hope in his abilities, but reinforced what happened against Maidana. He gives up. He took the paycheck and ran people. All smiles until camera's were off him, then ready to say he didn't HEAR fight. Probably because your own ears were still ringing off that head butt, pal.

 

I want you to take this video you have posted, edit it soley to the part where Cortez says BOX

Not lets go but the word Box
Like I have been saying there are three commands the ref gives the fighters, stop, break and Box
He never said Box which is why the time keeper was confused which is exactly why you have joe talking to the time keeper while Floyds hittin Ortiz
So since you said in your own post he said Box, please back it up now, you have the video right there all you have to do is edit it and put it together
