against phillips he fought a horrible fight but still won....

 

He should be rated much higher than he currently is and should have been top ten a long time ago.

 

OK. All this **** is getting to me anyhow. Pavlik haters out of the woodwork cuz Arthur got a better offer and didn't wait until early next year for the fight like he said he would. Yeah, the fight was over due, but still....... I'm thinking of just enjoying the fights and forgetting about all of the other crap. Pundints, bulletin boards, etc...... Just take the attitude I'll just go by what happens in the ring. :yep

Everyone who is not a Cotto-queen knows that Paul would have Cotto searching for his place on the canvas...




But yet, somehow, because he is exciting to them, and brings more drama, they rate him higher. P4P has nothing to do with who is the most exciting. It should be based on who you would expect to whip who, especially two guys in the same division.

 

It's the P4P rankings, not the head to head rankings. Williams is a much bigger guy than Cotto physically. Looking at their records you simply can't put Williams ahead of Cotto. Cotto didn't need two tries to squash Quintana, plus he's got Mosley and Clottey on his record, two elite fighters themselves.

 

Cotto was smashed, obliterated, and had his face put through a meat-grinder by Margarito.


PW UD'd him without being in any serious trouble, despite what the revisionists say..


If you are basing strictly on resume, then Cotto has him, although you have to admit, with Shane pussying out and not wanting any of PW, it hurts his chances at matching resumes.



But P4P isn't based strictly on resume. They are in the same division and fight at around the same weight on fight night. (Lower 160's) They should be compared. And at 147, most would agree that Paul would whip his ****in ass. (If he gets the stones to fight him)

Paul should easily be in the top 5. May'be he won't be right now, but in a couple of years he will be without a doubt. He will beat Sergiy Dzinziruk and win a belt at 154, and if he stays there he will be the Lineal Champ. If he decides to move up to Middleweight he will beat Pavlik and who knows he could possibly become Lineal Champ at Middleweight also.

 

We've discussed this in the past, and although I am a "Cotto-queen" as you say, I stated that in a fight between those two PW would be a clear favourite for me. So, since I say that, the "everyone who is not a Cotto-queen knows" line is not valid, or at least it doesn't apply to me. I root for the guy, but I'm not that ignorant to think it would be a 50-50 fight.

 

Once PW actually fights boxers his own size, we'll see what kind of a P4P fighter he is.
