I finally watched it this weekend. twice, once to enjoy, once to score. I had 2-4, and 6 for Kovalev, I had 5 and 7-11 for Ward, I had rounds 1 and 12 as toss up, could go either way. I gave 1 to Ward and 12 to Kovalev, have no problem either way, if you had both for Kovathen its 114-113 Kovalev, if you had both Ward, the it was 115-112 Ward, if you gave them 1-1 as I did it gives you 114-113 Ward, the same as the judges had it. Either way you had that is absolutely fine, but no matter how you slice it, it was not a robbery in any sense of the word. Ward controlled the second half of the fight, no if's, and's or but's about it.

    Can't wait for the rematch!

Robbery. No chance Ward won the 10th, for example.

Exactly. People claiming "robbery" clearly are new to the sport or don't know how to score a match. I have no problem with a point swing to either fighter in this bout. It was THAT close.

Rematch will answer questions. It's amazing these people call themselves fans. You'd think they would be excited about the fact it was a highly competitive bout with two excellent champions. Competitive enough that we'll get to see a 2nd bout. That's where I'm at right now: Can't wait to see the rematch!

Nope, they'd rather ***** about a close fight being a "robbery." Give me a break. You can make an argument for either man winning the bout.

Yep, if you understand the basis for the scoring system. Effective aggression, clean punching, defense and ring generalship. Absolutely it's easy to score fight.

Yes, Ward won the 10th too. Kovalev landed more punches, but Ward landed the cleaner punches, and controlled the space where the fight was happening. Ward won 7-11, pretty clearly.

That's Clean punches and Ring Generalship. 2 of the basis for scoring a round.

It was close if you know what you're watching. It was only NOT close if in the immortal words of Floyd Mayweather Sr. DKSAB!

Kova won, total punches, more headshots, more power punches and a knockdown. Ward threw sporadic potshots/counters. Have this fight take place in Switzerland and Kovalev wins. 75 percent of mainstream media had Kova winning as well. The most Russophobic news sites like the Telegraph and the guardian had Kova winning as well, afrocentrists like Dontaes boxnation and Iota boxing had Kova winning as well.

If you give more than 1 round to ward in the first 6, and five round 10 to ward, then there is no point talking to you. Just admit your bias and get over with it .

It was a close fight thus i dont like to go on about a robbery even though i had Kovalev winning the fight 114-113. Its that Kovalev got off to such a great start people saw what they wanted to see in the latter rounds. I thought Ward really took over the second half of the fight.

Finally someone who understands. Like I said, I have no problem with a 114-113 Kovalev score. RD 12 was a little tough to score, landed basically equally, I gave it to Ward based on the momentum built in 7-11, I still have a tough time w/ RD 1, Ward did the better work that round, but that Kova jab that shook Ward is hard to overcome too.

Yes, there is no point in talking to you, I just gave the reasoning for scoring round 10 to you and everyone else, yes Kova landed more, but Ward's were cleaner, and controlled space that round. That is almost the definition of the scoring system.

If you don't get that, then again, yes. There is no point talking to you, because YDKSAB!

Ward controlled rounds 7-11, all that punch stat stuff you just said because null by that statement. Fights are scored round by round, not as a whole. 7-11 is 5 rounds, 2 swing rounds going Ward's favor gives him the fight.. Well round 5 was a pretty clear Ward round. that's 6. Are you getting the point yet. I also don't give a crap about what the mainstream media says, nor those other crappy little sites, ESPN's Rafael for example can't score a fight correctly to save his life. Capeesh
