Yup. I didnt see the fight like you did and had kov winning yet i can easily see how you came to your score. Anyone arguing your score or insulting you is a moron. The fight was close.
I think it was the wrong decision but robbery is maybe a bit too far. There's something that rather sticks in my throat about the guy who holds and spoils being given the nod in such a close fight, though.
Andre Ward did do better in second half of the fight than in the first, but that does not signify he did better than Kovalev. kovalev was still in the game and no Ward did not win every round in the second half. Backpedalling, throwing sporadic counters that were not even effective does not signify Ward won. Capisce? Kovalev threw more and landed more, Ward did not do enough to subside this advantage including the knockdown.
Punch stats are super overrated especially if its not massively one sided. Kovalev landed just 10 more punches than Ward and ward connected at a higher percentage so its a terrible meter to use on who won the fight.
Yes. I think itll be close again. People are saying Ward dominates the rematch but i dont see that. These guys are both tremendous fighters.
Having a higher percentage means little, you can throw 2 punches and land one, that is already 50 percent accuracy, how many punches you land is the better gauge and is what judges use to measure the competition.
A fight can be close can still be a robbery. I actually have it 7-5 for kov, which in essential a close fight. But kovalev lost all his belt, hence it is a ROBBERY
well im glad you said that because i just looked at the punch stats round by round and if you give each round to the guy that landed the most punches the fight ends up 6/6 rounds and 114-113 for Kovalev because of the knockdown. That is the exact way i had the fight scored and i believe kovalev won but just one round scored in favor of Ward that was for kovalev gives you the opposite score. So i dont understand why its so hard to believe that ward won and why all the robbery talk. the fight was close.
so your just going to ignore your own argument now that it doesnt support your case? lol clown move bro.
Actually, Ward threw more and landed more in rounds 6-12. they even posted the stat during the fight. You can win back pedaling especially if the other fighter is just following you around. The other fighter is not show Effective aggression, and the fighter back pedaling is showing ring generalship, fight where and when he wants to fight, 2 key components in the scoring system. And I didn't say he won the whole second half, I said he won 7-11, I Did say 12 was hard to score, but then Kovalev didn't all 6 of the 1st 6 either. Ward did win 5 and you could possibly make a case for 1, Altough I believe Kova's big jab won it.
No, a fight can not be close and be a robbery. A robbery suggests a clear unarguable decision for 1 fighter, well, I'm sorry, there are definitely swing rounds in this fight, that you can make a case for either fighter. I don't see 7 rounds for Kova, I can argue possibly 6, but I gave him 5. That is the definition of a close fight.
I think mirko has made up his mind on how he sees the fight which i dont have a problem if he had kov wining as i did too. The problem is he believes its a robbery and doesnt want to hear that it was a close fight which is crazy. the fight was absolutely close.
