Good fight overall. My takeaways; Wilder's big mistake was not coming in lighter. He had nothing left after round 5. No quit in the man, he displayed a ton of heart. The other thing was not working off his jab enough, he abandoned it after the second round. All he was doing was looking to land his straight right. Wilder with a hook after his jab and then the right hand would be a real problem. Fury was nowhere near as sharp as the second fight. I see why he's looking to do an exhibition, he needs to stay active. He got too aggressive too soon, which led to the 2 knock downs in round 4. The first one almost looked like it was push than a punch. Round 6 onward was a sloppier replay of the second fight. I think he was more cautious after the fourth round and took his time. Future matchups: Wilder vs. Ruiz or AJ would be good, exciting fights. Both of those guys are hittable. Helenius isn't a bad opponent coming off 2 losses, if those rumors are true. Fury vs. Usyk, the latter could give the former a rough night. Usyk jabbing to the body with speed plus his movement and ring IQ are not something to be taken lightly by Fury.
Just for your knowledge Fury trained for 3 weeks and both his elbows were blown out so he couldn't really do much but rush in head first and maul Wilder.
Wilder's offense and stamina suffered due to the extra weight, but he also withstood more punishment than he would have been able to otherwise. Still wish he'd get back down to at least 230 tho. Slightly overrated fight but a very good one. Wilder's heart was the big takeaway.
Nonsense. Fury had a full training camp in that summer before pulling out of the July 24th fight with less than two weeks notice claiming COVID. He began camp in May. The fight was called off in July. Then he went shopping for cars showed up at the casinos with his shirt off mugging for cameras days later. And he caught hell for it. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/s...Las-Vegas-WEEK-testing-positive-Covid-19.html His daughter was born in August and was released from the hospital the first week in September a full month before their October fight. Fury admitted he trained that whole month during the day and then he'd go to the hospital from the gym. After she was sent home, he had another additional month to prepare. Fury's combined training camps for that third fight totalled close to four months. He was in the public eye the entire time. He posted videos or had his photo taken if not every day a couple times every week. He often posed with no shirt on or a jacket with no shirt the whole time. He was fit the whole time. Even during the "couple days" he claimed he had Covid, he was in public getting his picture taken smiling. I'm sure his daughter's medical problems weighed on him psychologically. Of course it would. But she was in the hospital for four weeks out of the 16 weeks total he spent training for that fight.
Your desperate attempts are laughable Nobody trains 16 weeks for a fight Even if he had good training which clearly he didn't his elbows were still shot Keep grasping Could have easily called it off or delayed further and nobody would bat an eye.
He looked better against Dillian Whyte because he was fighting Dillian Whyte and didn't fear Whyte in the least.
Did Fury train from May to July before the fight was postponed? YES. The fight was postponed in July DAYS before it was supposed to take place. Here's Fury at their JUNE press conference where he posed YET AGAIN with no shirt on. https://www.boxen247.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/21-450x396.jpg Did Fury begin camp AGAIN in August and train until his fight in October? YES How you got "three weeks" out of all of that, I have no idea.
So when Fury p caught covid and a kid who died you think he was training? youre on crack and clearly dont have kids. he never had a proper camp. 2nd fight was a proper camp and so was Whyte and it shows.
Fury outclassed Wilder in the 3rd fight when. He was being responsible with his defense and working feints into his offense. Every knockdown occurred after Fury got lazy and abandoned his feints. Fury would stand back up and start being responsible after every knockdown and dominate for a while before getting lazy again. I don't feel like Fury was mentally up for this fight. He had already conqured Wilder and seemed to only be in there to fill a contractual obligation.
