After the knockout, I came away thinking; "Is he that much better than Murray, or just that much more powerful?" He got hit an awful lot, I wonder what is going to happen when somebody who can hurt you hits him on the chin 50x. I wasn't at all impressed by Murray coming into the fight, but he's a solid fringe contender and knows his way around the ring; not a bum. I think, ultimately GGG may already be just a shade past his prime. He looked like a slower version of the guy who destroyed Proksa and Ishida a few years ago. He is almost 33, and in the pre-roids era, that's about when guys started to pack it in.
Murray was just in survial mode the whole fight. His good chin protected him to get it to the 11th round.
He would have beaten Kessler, but Calzaghe would have beaten him, and easily. Different level of ability.
Kessler would decision him. Close but clear. Kesslers jab will be in his face all night long. Kessler had trouble with fast slick fighters but with fighters like Golovkin who comes forward throwing bombs Kessler will pick him apart
Murray seemed able to time him coming in, add to that the few times Murray took the centre of the ring GGG looked unable to fight on the back foot. It would appear he may be human afterall.
GGG does this in every fight, if you notice in the 1st few rounds his defence is a lot tighter and he slips a lot of the punches,,, but when he has his opponent hurt he takes more chances and once he feels your power and doesn't respect then your really in trouble cos he really doesn't give a f@#k and goes in all attack mode and just hunts you down, If you think he'd take the same tactic against a big SMW , I think youd be wrong
How the hell did Froch beat him then? Kessler wouldn't have a chance against GGG, neither would Calslappy.
It says alot about GGG dominance that the opponents touted to fight/beat him are retired supermiddleweights, GGG didnt get hit in the first half of the fight in the second indont think he cared,He knew Murray couldnt hurt him therefore the little smile each time he was caught clean, technically he is brilliant and cuts a ring better than any bixer iv ever seen
