Well said mate. Just for matters sake, a few former greats will be placed on the plaques as far as 'honourary' sponsors.. Fammo, Lionel and numerous others have been already been selected by generous folk to accompany their own name as sponsor. Keith Ellis was VERY quick to say yes to one with his name and Russell Sands Jnr being honoured also. Unfortunately, Keith is in a bad way and his monies are much better off being placed towards his own rehabilitation. Keep punchin' Keefy :bbb Perhaps someone would like a plaque to encompass their own name, as well as Keefy and Russell Sands Jnr?? Dave Sands, Jimmy Carruthers, Young Griffo, Ron Richards... there's plenty.. literally hundreds of GREAT names deserved of a mention as 'honourary' sponsor.
Just wish i had a few spare quid to get Dyer's name up on one if not two of the castings , i'm sure there gotta be a few Taffy's that moved to Australia that would be only too pleased to shell out if they knew Fred fought Les Twice , if any of you lads know of such a loaded Taff educate them .
Josey, Old Fred Dyer will take pride of place on two seperate plaque mate. He fought Darcy twice... Darcy and Dyer had a very close friendship, as all opponents did (except Jeff Smith) and Dyer goes hand in hand with the Darcy legend mate. Dont panic padre'... Fred's already accounted for. I believe both plaques have been sold.
Thats fantastic news mate , it matters not they are both dead as they will live forever in the minds of those that know , where is the family monument , Maitland ? i will be sure to visit it one day . all the best :good
Just let me know when your heading over Josey, I'll inform my mates at customs and they'll give you a special, searching welcome.
Josey, yes its in the East Maitland cemetary. In the vault is little brother Frank 'frosty' Darcy who died aged 19 from the Spanish flu epidemic in 1919. Both parents and eldest brother Cyrill are said to be entombed also, as well as one sister. I have viewed recent photographs which show the inside of the vault. Les' casket is clearly visible, yet the rest of the space is covered by a couple of cubic meters of soil and colapsed brickwork. It will be an interesting project determaning exactly who is were.
Hmmm.. I wouldnt wish to be a customs officer. Imagine opening Phils suit case.. yellow stained Y-fronts and semen covered socks??? NO THANKS.
This content is protected Flamengo, on one of his paid rent boy trips, visits Darcys grave in the presence of his sugar daddy.
Just a thought but why wouldn't top paid fighters like Green,Mundine and Vic D chip in a few bucks to show their support?:huh
I've tried to telephone those involved with Green and Vic, although the phone is never answered. I'll send an email, as Im sure they will be interested.
