I seem to have a problem but i dont know if its good or bad. I am 19 at 5'9" with a 76 in. reach, with tha way the measure now with armpit-2-fist i am 29 in. obviously it looks like i should be an outside fighter, but i love to fight an bang, not brawler like but in fighter like. i hav already started boxing and i have varied each style but still won. Suggestions?????:bbb
If your reach is really 76' and you are really 5'9 thats actually below average. But anyways. You just have to find a style you can win with. I love to brawl too, but I can't brawl with everyone. You meet a guy thats stronger and faster than you, and all you can do is fight inside how are you going to win? Learn both.
76' is like a squid thats so long. I dont think thats below average at all, its actually quite inhuman
quoted for truth. picking one style early only limits your choices in the future. when you come up on someone who can pull you out of your style and out of your comfort zone then you're in for a rough time. learn as much as you can now and keep it broad, and decide things like which style you prefer to favor later on. best of all, find a good gym and have a good coach point you in the right direction.
For being...ohhhhhh *insert foot in mouth* My math is lacking. Dont know what I was thinking there. I was thinking 12(5)+9=80 some how. lol
lol tha only thing more weird is that they're still growing but i hear you tho but check out my fight on the other thread where ESB members post there fights, there is a perfect example of how my long reach, inside game, mixed wit a lotta power really work
know yourself, since you like to bang you should focus on mixing up on the inside and boxing on the outside. At 5'9" you have a long reach and shouldnt smother your power on the inside seeing that your power is at the end of the punch. Try watching guys like Shane Mosley or guys with similar dimensions to you and try to incorporate attributes of their style. If you have a decent jab, you should work on being a boxer puncher
