I would suggest, it found guilty, that Margarito was loading his gloves before Mosley and that the reason Cotto was hurting is because of the wraps.

Now, if he's found innocent then Cotto was hurting because he was getting his ass kicked fair and square.

I agree whole heartedly with every post you've made in this thread so far, but how will we ever know for SURE if he'd done it in the past. I'm sure that evidence has long since been destroyed.

Maybe we could review the interviews, it would seem if Margo's hands were "stone" they wouldn't take off his gloves until he got to the dressing room? It would be stupid to talk to Merchant, and shake hands if you've got illegal wraps.:yep

Cotto never was a quitter, plaster or not. He was getting destroyed and his corner not stopped the fight, he didn't pull a Duran. Taking a tactical knee does not equal quitting.


Regardless, i'm not really sure on this whole plaster thing until i see some irrefutable evidence. Some fighters just are extremely heavy handed while seemingly throwing light punches, but still hurting their opponents. Foreman's KO of Moorer looked like a light shot, but was anything but. That doesn't mean he used illegal hand wraps, though, and neither does it with Margarito-Cotto. He was hitting Cotto all night long with those heavy shots (sometimes more than 100 per round thrown) and Cotto was exhausted. Those cuts don't prove a thing; they only happened in the 11th. Klitschko was cut ten times worse in the 2nd round against Lewis.

I hear ya. Unfortunatley if it's proven that he was loading his gloves with Mosley how do we prove he's done it before? I don't know how they'd go about this. Reviewing the tapes would be a good start.

putting water on handwraps turns them into plaster.......anyone box in the amatuer knows that your handwraps are getting wet whatever happens.

if they get wet and you warm up they dry and harden...this is fairly common.
