Nice,, good luck!! Yeah I was able to keep somewhat composed. I've done a lot of sparring so I felt overall comfortable, except it being my first fight I was a bit anxious and threw more punches than I wanted to and loaded up more than I should have. I expect to fight better each time out as I get more adjusted to fighting in front of people.

i figured as much. I've been training with a co-worker since it'll be his first fight too. we're co-main eventing the fight since it's on the Navy base and we're active duty so pressure is on for us to win I guess. We've been sparring a lot so we can get comfortable and stop falling apart defensively. We should be ready by next month.

Yeah, I think focusing on the chest and defense helped me out a lot, but I did get sucked into fighting too much. By the last round I was mostly throwing arm-punches I got so tired. I'll load some more clips later.

That's cool you are fighting for the Navy. I was born on a Naval base in Lemoore, my father was in the military. I'm fighting for a college team and I found out that the military teams are suppose to be the power-houses in boxing, so I can imagine the pressure. Good luck!

Nice Venue to have your first fight at.

Sure as hell beats an old sports hall that smells like crap

btw did you hold back on the power or were you punching as hard as possible? Hear a lot of guys don''t punch hard in their 1st fight hoping the opponent will do the same

The Marines have been making better boxers lately but they actually teach their recruits how to fight. The US Jr Welterweight rep is an active Marine who won gold at the US Military games the past 2 years. I'm not fighting FOR the Navy, just at a Navy event though as of now that's my tentative end goal and it's why I started boxing so that I might try out for the All Navy team some day.
