Fedor is not retiring

    http://mmaweekly.com/fedor-emelianenko-not-retiring-plans-in-place-for-a-fight-in-russia-in-2011

Yet another ATG refuses to call it a day after some decisive losses

    Thoughts?

Is there anything more destructive to a guys career and health than a greedy manager

Who is he going to fight? M1 & Golden Glory have a history of bad blood

The sad thing with Fedor is that if his management had just taken the deal with White in 2009 he and they would have made much, much more money.

Most definitely but at least we'd have got some great Fedor fights in the USA beforehand.

Btw how's this for a counterfactual scenario: If Fedor signed with the UFC after the collapse of Affliction in 2009 who would he have faced in his first fight inside the Octagon?

My vote goes for Anderson Silva. They'd have booked the fight with Brock only for Lesnar to pull out due to his diverticulitis. Scrambling for a replacement, Silva would have made himself available for a Best P4P Fighter match against Emelianenko in January 2010. And he would have won.

Not after the Nogueira fight I don't think, both because Randy lost and because the buyrate was disappointing.

It sad, but like Will said in a earlier thread, I think the biggest problem with Fedor right now it's is camp.

He should just go train in a real camp and spar with real MMA fighters.

But maybe it's kinda too late too, who knows !

I agree with Will about the camps. I just dont think his heart is in it either

Yeah I agree - got to be difficult to overhaul an approach that's worked for so long.

That's the main problem I think, it can be really ****in hard to change.

    And that's for everyone !

I made this post in another thread, think it's relevant though

I mean if he hadnt jumped back into Werdum's guard, or had established side control against Hendo when he had Dan hurt, he could have won those fights conceivably. But he just kept wailing away

Yeah the Werdum mistake was the worst IMO....

It's worth noting that he started losing in sambo in 2008/2009, so even in a sport that wasn't changing as much as MMA his skills was slipping.
