Hey everyone, I just finished my first fight and would really appreciate some feedback. Who did you guys feel won the fight? I won't say who I am just to avoid bias. I also have a fun after story to add once I get few responses.

Ah ok, I will cut out the breaks in between the rounds and also the period after the match. Let me know if it's a bit better now.

Nothing against you, and I’ll watch and give my take on the fight later…

..but I absolutely hate what amateur boxing has become…. Every little rinky dink promotion gives these amateur fighters “belts” now, putting them on live streams with commentary, etc… As if what social media does to make everyone think they’re something they’re not isn’t bad enough…

It’s hard enough to be a fighter and not have “main character syndrome”, even without the way modern society operates…. to see how coaches, promoters, and others involved in the sport propagate it just rubs me the wrong way..

I have to totally agree with you there, it was way overdone but it was still a little bit fun to act like I'm a big shot. Although I think that had something to do with the outcome which I can explain after just not to influence the outcome. Kinda a funny story too.

What weight was this competed at? Red seems to be a decent bit bigger.

I’m assuming both athletes are novices based on the commentary.

For most of the bout, I think Blue was out hustling Red and looked to be the more well schooled fighter, but seems overly anxious or something, almost appearing scared to get hit (nothing to be ashamed of as a novice). Most of my critique for blue at this stage would just come down to getting more experience, and just general technique refinement like is always needed.. IMO he was doing a lot of good stuff but was moving just a bit too much / turning away from shots.

I liked how Red seemed confident in his defense/guard, and was able to pick his spots which can be hard as a novice. But he was a bit stiff, and could benefit from learning to relax a bit more and get some more rhythm and speed on his offense. A bit too much loading up. I’d have liked him to be a bit meaner when blue attempted to tie him up and fight out of it more.

I’m not sure how this bout was scored, but it was a good fight. Blue seemed to outwork him the first half, but Red seemed to come on strong at the end + the knockdown.

All just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.

And yah, I don’t blame you or any of the fighters really for my criticism about ammy boxing nowadays!

At the end of the day, boxing was the real winner.

from the video, the fight was a good scrap. both red and blue had their moments. but after just watching this video one time, i feel red was more active. blue had moments early but seemed to fade as the bout went on.
i think red edged out the win.
but keep in mind i am a non athletic grandpa that DKSAB.

i think blue is more agile and better reflexes. red is stronger with more consistent technique, but he pushes his punches so lacks any snap. i think blue edged it on natural ability, which gave him more opportunities to score.
