Ah mate im not even really that positive. For the last few months iv been training very hard and very stupidly. Long long story but i was going through a rough patch in life lol and training was my sorta stress relief. I was running stupid distances everyday doing anywhere from 6-10 miles plus boxing and doing normal workouts. It was good to relieve the stress but when your like that you dont think straight, i wasnt getting the right nutrition or rest. It wasnt something that really happened from a specific incident but my left ankle for a long time is not right, I think its the achillies but i could be wrong. Its better than it was but its still not right. Iv been getting back into it last couple weeks trying to do as much as possible but no impact ie bike rower ect. And now im dying to get back to boxing. Problem is i get days like today where it feels fine until i put any weight on my toes. Really dont know what to do except take it easy and try and get back into it slowly. Lesson learned always rest up and eat right lol
Jones/Joker- Thank you both. And jones yea i know lol, my trainer stresses defense too! Getting stunned early really threw me off. Johnny- I have been having the same type of issue with my knee. It's really been effecting my running. But sorry to hear about all that man, but **** has a way of working itself out over time. Both injuries and rough patches in life! uefull- Thanks I'll post the video of my fight on saturday... Now the thing is, do i make a new thread or just continue this one...
Cheers mate, im just being real careful eg today i should be in the gym but gunna have to give it a miss, dont want to set it back again when i know its recovering. Prob gunna go the docs soon to get it checked out. **** about your knee, im starting to think running isnt the way forward no pun intended lol really bad for your joints, shame though cos i love it so much
yea right? I think i am gonna try swimming.... Too bad I am horrible at it. Dunno if i could even do 1 lap though to be honest... And i'm not sure how much a doggie paddle will help with my cardio
Give it a go, i think youd be suprised in a strange way being **** at swimming requires more energy and works you hard as your trying not to drown Iv decided once im all healed up im still going to do the running just limit it and include other cardio such as swimming, rowing, bike ect Only do the odd long distance run and interval running more frequently
good fight man.. especially for your first.. if u had the 4 fights he had that fight wouldve been alot easier.. put a little more on that jab and work on your lateral movement and youd box circles aorund a guy liek that!
Good job! That looked like a risky fight, way to step it up in your first bout! - It was funny seeing that midget swing haha
KillSometing- Hahaha... Well turns out i got a walk over championship, so i won the whole tourny. Kinda Bummed it's meaningless since i only fought once. But i do fight again this saturday (2/6/10). They are calling for a big snow storm around me though so it might be called off
Damm you are tall. I thought he was technically the better fighter but he had a lot of dificulty dealing with the height difference (who wouldnt?) and he gassed out. That said, you did very well and even better for winning considering the guy is 4-0 and it was your first fight...I think if you learn to snap your punches, mainly your jab and move fluidly around the ring, when shorter guys like that get close just tie them up, you would be very hard to beat.
