Congratulations mate. One has tried, all have failed. There is no blueprint What are you going to do different next time to keep your energy level up? Train harder? Prepare better before the fight? Throw less? I'm interested in what people learn from their first fight
Yeah the crowd was nuts cos our varsity fights are all at the end so people who arent boxing fans are sat in a pub watching 10 fights they dont care about so by the time the varsity fights begin people get up for it. Cheers, i usually use my jab alot more im much more a boxer type usually but it became a bit of a brawl :good Just too slick Definitely train harder and prep better. Like i said i didnt have alot of time and wasnt expecting it, plus the nerves of both my first fight and the atmosphere. Id like to throw more if anything, i go to the body alot and when i do i generally am alot more successful. In the fight i was definitely behind until i started going to the body. Just want to be in better shape and keep my guard tight and chin down, when i watch that video some of my punches are so sloppy and my chin so high i just want to shout at myself.
Really nice job for a first fight. Two things. First, learn to punch with your hips and shoulders, not so much with your arms. Second, you have a tendency to leave your jab out, as opposed to firing out and coming back.
Thanks proper technique is something ive been working on alot at the gym. I think alot of it was nerves as i did things that i dont do in sparring/training, a few of my shots look as if im underwater atsch.
