hi all, got my first fight in 6 weeks.

usually my training consists of a 2 mile run, 5x3mins skipping (30 second rest), 3-5 rnds shadow boxing (30 second rest)

then either bagwork for 3-5 rounds followed by some conditioning exercises or 15-20 mins of conditioning, i alternate between abs/upper body.

i've boxed for about 2 years and my technique is decent, i used to do alot of bag work and neglected the running, skipping, shadow boxing and conditioning. so now i'm focussing on those areas again + sparring as much as possible.

i'm getting about 6-12 rounds a week sparring. sometimes hard sometimes medium intensity. sometimes very light, depends on partner.

i need to drop about 10 lb's before i fight, my height is 5"10 and i weigh 190 lbs. my build is muscular but im still carring some fat, not sure of %.

any advice which would assist me in my preparations is much appreciated. my trainer thinks i am very advanced for someone with no fights but i am not as confident in my abilities, i have not proven anything yet and have a lot to learn.

Well obviously, train very hard. Second, mix up your training. Don't always do the same thing, mix it all up and ask your coach to observe you and what your doing wrong, this way you'll find a new way to arrange that problem. Always keep hands up in the ring no matter how tired.. cover your ribs and never go in the ring scared. Goodluck my friend
