Well, i had my first fight last night and it didnt go well. I was way too nervous and felt exhausted maybe halfway through the first round. I guess i ran out of energy because i was so tense or something like that and by the end of the night i was turning to clinching and pushing. eventually that pissed the ref off and she took points away and then called the fight. another thing that sucked was that i didnt even know what the hand signals meant so i didnt know she was taking a point away from me lol atsch but what i was wondering about is how would you get over getting exhausted so fast in a fight? i mean its different in sparring, i could go 4-5 rounds with a fast pace easy, and i run just about everyday and do burnouts on the bag. Probably just nerves or something? well anyway if anybodys got a suggestion you should tell me. ill try to get the video posted on here. and thanks to kolya and amy for wishing me luck right before i stepped in the ring, it gave me confidence for maybe half a minute :bbb
I had the same problem when I was bombing on a 300 sparring partner. You start muscling around your energy will drain quickly. That is normal but if you want to continue to wrestle with guy you better start doing squats and dead lifts. Was the guy bigger? What was his weight and how many fights?
Hey my dads father and grandfather were from Butte Montana. From what I understand they were miners that drank a lot and got into a lot of fights.
Yeah i didnt really wanna wrestle around with him i kinda did it as a last resort. and we were about the same height and im not sure about his weight i just know it was somewhere around 125 and he had 3 fights before.
lol oh sweet. sounds like my grandpa, and my uncles, and my older cousins, thats pretty much the way everyone used to be here.
Hey Brandon, Good job in there. I could tell you were pretty tense but I could also see that you have a lot of potential. First I have to say that the reason you got DQ'd was because you weren't clinching properly. You were actually holding behind the head. That's what the ref kept warning you and taking points for. You can't grab behind the head or neck. You have to grab the elbows and pull their arms in to you. It's best not to clinch at all and if you do, only hold on long enough to get them to stop punching and then let go and get your hands back up. I don't know if you can still download the rule book on usaboxing.org or not but it would be wise to read it. I noticed that the Butte kids commit a lot of fouls and don't understand the ref. You all push a lot and you all clinch wrong. Your coach really needs to read the rule book regarding equipment as well. All in all though, you did pretty good. You have good hand speed and a good jab when you used it. Try to be first next time, you did a lot of waiting for him to come in before you let some punches off and it was too late. Good luck next time.
I would like to visit Butte someday...... Hey Jones1 how old are you? Montana has only a couple gyms. If you ever get the chance to move to places like California or New York you will have access to hundreds of gyms.
