So I got round to doing a few rounds of very light sparring for the first time yesterday. I am the guy in white. I can already see tonnes of things I have to work on. Here is a small video of it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwgh6TxFvd0&feature=youtu.be Not really after critique at the moment as I know there is so much to work on it is not worth listing it all at once. Just thought I would share it so you can see an ESB member starting out his training really. As I said as well it was only light sparring so I was not throwing to hard.
2nd time... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Pg9ehBgKm8&feature=context-cha[/ame] just thought I would share, feel free to share your video's in here as well, especially interested in new starters like my self.
as I clearly stated it is only my second time, I am there with someone like 4 stone heavier than me kind of still more worried about not getting floored than looking at technically capable of Mayweather... I figure the more I do it the more I comfortable I will get until all the basics I have learnt on the pads and bags etc become natural to me whilst in a more pressured environment??? Maybe I am wrong and you guys were doing everything you had learnt on pads and bags first time you had someone else trying to hit you??? It is not the nicest feeling to know you at 124lbs are being put in with someone at 180lbs.... That is one of the many limitations of living in a small town with a small club.
They should maybe have read the thread then, and i quote..... 'Not really after critique at the moment as I know there is so much to work on it is not worth listing it all at once. Just thought I would share it so you can see an ESB member starting out his training really.'
Shouldn't be even on a bag yet. In front of a mirror. Getting your fundamentals. Movements, all your basics before you even hit a bag or a pad. I didn't even throw a punch at nothing until my feet were moving in the right direction at the correct times. As for you getting stroppy about people critiquing you, I think you were very naive in thinking you'd get anything less on esb.
That is just....rubbish. Why are you even 'sparring'(if you could call it that) at this point? Like bam-bam says you should be getting the basics down, actually learn to box rather than just brawling with your mates.
