"The Tyson from the 80's" - my first association with the pic was with the way Tyson looked in the early 2000's when he had a couple of bouts in the UK.
I'll probably create a 1990s and 2000s Tyson as well...I'm just kooky like that. I like having different eras of the same fighter, good for match-ups.
After FNR3, I almost wish that, instead of having multiple weight divisions, they should just go all-out for heavyweights. For my money, I'd rather have a game with 30+ of the best heavyweight contenders and champions (with authentic styles to boot!) than 6 weight classes with 5 fighters each. Also, one of my biggest complaints about FNR3 was that they somehow made Floyd Patterson into a slow, wild-punching slugger? atsch
Yeah it's as bad as making Frazier a southpaw in round 2. They really need to up the accuracy in those games, Jake LaMotta walking out to hip hop just makes me cringe, I turn the music off now.
The music is another thing I had a problem with - there's only two ringwalk songs in FNR3 if I remember right. It wouldn't be that hard at all for them to allow custom music, for both the menus and ringwalks. I mean, it was done back in like 2002 on the original Xbox...so it's not like the technology isn't there.
I would prefer an ERA Based boxing game where you can choose the era in which to fight and fight in that era. All the boxers in the game would be placed in thier respective era's and any clashes that take place would be fights that are plausible like a Liston vs. Marciano as opposed to a Holyfield vs. Marciano. They should focus on one division and include as many fighters as possible. Including several versions of those fighters. If they are going to include Mike Tyson they should the 80s version, 90s version and the 2000s version of Mike giving him different characteristics and slightly altering his appearance and attributes as years pass. Focus on accuracy. And straight punches should carry more power depending on the fighter and power should be allocated in such a way if a fighter has a better left hook than a straight right hand then more damage is done with the left hook
