First thoughts on Warren bill?

Should look at Clev more, when he barely outpointed the French guy... even if Brahmer is only twice as good... he wins this in this mofo.

He moved around like Naz remember.

 

I have Degale and Brahmer winning at moment.

 

Im happy the fight is happening now, i think its the perfect timing as its well built up and as the fights get tougher we will probably see more flaws in there styles so nows good. Both had had pretty good starts to their careers, have worked there way to the top of th British pack and its probably as sellable as its gonna get for the time being.

I fancy Degale but i think itll be a close fight (for 6 rounds at least), hopefully its good and if they both can move onto world level we can get a rematch down the line.

Im not too sure what to make of Cleverly-Braemer yet, i havent seen much of Braemer so i dont want to commit to a judgement to quickly but what ive see i thin k Clev stands a good chance of winning as long as he dosnt bring a performance like he did last time out.

I think both fights should go ahead and that we'll get a half decent undercard, not the mega undercard that was suggested earlier though.

Anyway im happy, Klit/Haye and Groves/Degale, all i need is Gamboa/lopez and Pacman/Floyd and this will be an awesome year. What???? I can still dream cant I

 

Cleverly will win most of the early rounds then get stopped 2nd half of the fight. Brahmer is good enough to catch him & hits hard enough to stop him.

DeGale wins a competitive fight by a close-ish decision (2/3rounds). Both guys have a few moments & Groves shows a lot of heart to make it through to the end.

 

Not PPV worthy but the lack of quality control re boxing on sky the last while is shite. DeGale and Cleverly for me.

 

Strange how for a double bill, Groves-DeGale will get 95% of the attention in here despite the fact that Clev is in big title fight against a proven world class operator.

 

Bet Sky are gonna screw us over with Froch again.

 

-Is Degale intimidated by Groves?

Intimidated is the wrong word. He will certainly not admit it before the fight but he knows he is in for a tough night. The constant insults shows signs of nerves for me. He has has the pressure of the Olympics but nothing was expected of him. He is now expected to win, expected to dominate a fighter that knows him inside out and has been at least competative with him often. If you sat someone down and made them watch every Groves fight and ever DeGale fight they would obviously favour DeGale but there is way more to boxing than that as we know.

-Would you have preferred this fight to come later when both men are more mature and established?

Yes but its nice to see it happening now. I dominant loss will wreck the losers confidence and career.

-Apart from being a decent puncher, how much of a risk is the German for Clev?

The sheer mental strentgh of a champion will be an issue. Clev broke Murats heart and he gave up after 2/3 rounds. I cannot see that happening with Braehmer he will be a threat til the last second.

-Is it going to be really competitive or do you see Groves battering Degale/James outclassing George?

It will be competative. Both fights.

-Will Clevs porous defence finally catch up with him?

He may need to get of the floor to win. I genuinley beleive Cleverly is a special talent and he will show that on the big stage.

-Do you think this will come off or be another doomed Warren show?

Its not just Warren. In boxing nothing goes to plan.



What people are totally under estimating in this fight is how DeGale will handle taking a big shot, being under pressure, not winning a round. He has had it easy so far. His amateur expirience may come into play but look at the fights with Sutherland and Corera. If they had been 12x3 minute round fights what would have happened?? DeGale 100% does not like being out of his comfort zone Darren Barker and Anthony Small will tell you this.

I get why people rate the Smith win. But I can look world class on the punch bag. This is gonna be a real fight.

i wouldnt judge clev on the performance against the awkward french guy who was a last minute opponent and not what he'd trained for.

Clev will be properly prepared for Braehmer so there should be no excuses.

 

The french guy Cleverly faced causes anybody problems at 2 days notice. Anybody.
