First time on a heavy bag. Could already feel the pain in my hands

  1. Always wrap your hands when using gloves, and how you wrap your hands is important too. If possible, get someone who knows what they are doing to show you how to correctly wrap them.

If the pain continues vary the wrapping slightly. I used to wind too many layers of wrap directly over my knuckles and it caused me some pain the next day. Once I started wrapping more evenly the pain stopped.

Joe Joyce used to dip his hands in petrol.

sounds like good advice to me

Update third day on heavy bag and third different wrap. Used the wrapping from expert boxing. A hell lot less pain. I think I can perfect this thing.

Wrap tight. Squeeze your hand hard. You will see and feel the difference. My knucles already look different. No more pain in the bones on my left fingers and very slight in my right fingers. My hands feel like they are just getting used to the bag now. Not so much getting hurt.
