Yeah, I remember the Weathers KD. Sanders could be sloppy early sometimes and underestimate his opponent's speed. The same thing as this happened to him in the Sprott fight although he didn't touch floor in that one. The opponent better be ready for the return though ...

Yep. Corrie was absolutely NOT the guy that any heavyweight in history (And I mean that) would want to just go in there with and get in a shootout. Lol! Especially not the first few rounds. Vitali did get into a fire fight with him but after Corrie had tired a bit. And I’m a huge Vitali fan but that Sanders in that 2004 fight was not quite the same one that stopped Wlad. Hamburg Sanders >> Tokyo Douglas imo lol

The only man to knock down Vitali and one of the few to beat Wlad, as well as a great human being who died protecting the people he loved.

    True, but harsh.

If he had gotten the opportunity to fight at the top level in his prime, he probably would've had just as many losses to top opposition as wins against top opposition. I don't think he would've ever been a long reigning champion in any era, maybe the 1800s, though I'm not knowledgeable enough about that era to make that claim. However, I'd always give him a puncher's chance against anyone.

Agreed with everything there EXCEPT the knockdown Vitali part. ;) It was an obvious push/trip down after rocking him. But… to say you actually put Vitali on his bicycle is a damn accomplishment in itself! lol

I can respect the opinion that Vitali wasn't knockdown, but I’ve rewatched the fight around five times, and I still think Vitali was knockdown.
