Figured I would add my first two amateur fights up here. The first one took place in the end of May, and the second took place beginning of June. I started training midway through march. Only experience I had was messing around with my dad who was an amateur in Philly, and a neighborhood legend in South Philly. My two fights took place at 201 lbs which is heavyweight in the amateurs. I plan on getting settled at middle or light heavy. http://www.youtube.com/embed/6qKJgv4E0oM http://www.youtube.com/embed/0ElWWM2AnIg
lmao what was the deal in the first fight?? the guy pulled a Oliver McCall Anyways congrats on the wins, keep working on improving your skills! You look strong but as you said could probably be better suited for LHW in the long run best of luck
I was extremely nervous in these two fights. I had a lot of good sparring in the first fight, and was really working some good pros and amateurs, but my nervousness got the best of me. then when i caught him the first fight i seen his legs buckle and i tried to finish him. the funny thing is the guy was talking **** to me when we were at weigh ins, and was saying how he was going to ko me and all this b.s. ahah
Good job. Both guys didn't want any. It looked like the 2nd guy could have gotten up and decided to stay down. You dropped him with a hard shot though.
Thanks Golden Boy. My next fight won't be until March atleast, I am headed to Afghanistan because I am in the military so I am focused on losing excess weight, and getting more powerful, plus getting my technique more down pat.
Nice wins. The first guy had a glass heart. You must hit pretty ****ing hard, you have a habit of dropping your hands though and your technique can get sloppy, if you just improve your technique then your power will develop alongside other aspects that will make you a better fighter.
First fight looked like a standard first fight, so nervous you just bomb. Worked though he didn't fancy getting hit any more, I'm surprised the ref didn't givinga standing 8 for running or walking back to his corner the first time. Second one the lad seemed better than the first, but again you must hit pretty hard haha! Just to echo what arron said, keep your hands up and wTch your balance. You throw from your waist sometimes and one of them hooks span you when it didn't connect. Just something to work on. Good wins though mate.
omg why was the first one in the ring. i like the shuffle in the second fight when the ko came. heavy handed but quite slow.
Thank you everyone for the constructive critisism. I was very nervous for both fights. I can perform much better then I did in these two outings, I kind of threw everything out of the window during training. I fight again in march, the reason for the long layoff is because I been in training with the military, and I am headed to the middle east next week sometime.
