Fischer: "Dawson Would Beat Calzaghe, Calzaghe/Johnson Is An Even Fight"

  1.
So unproven prospects who have been hiding in the States feasting on Ameribums are suddenly better opposition than proven world champions and top ten guys like Reid, Mitchell, Brewer, Woodhall, Lacy, Kessler, Sheika etc... just because they're maybe a few pounds naturally heavier... right!
Dude, I don't have time to educate you about Joe's career when you apparently don't have a clue. This is ESB. Go read the Brit forum and you can have guys with more patience tell you about his pathetic WarrBO career and describe his fights. I've already watched them. Just put out your questions and any of a few dozen Calzaghe nutt-huggers will be there to assist you and then real knowledgeable fans will come in and straighten out their BS.

You may rate that incredible collection of fighters as something else but not one of them beats the three fighters I mentioned (and that includes Kessler).

I think the one thing Johnson WOULDN'T have is a punchers chance mate. He isn't a noted puncher, and Calzaghe's chin/powers of recovery are well known.

Bearing in mind I've seen every fight since Bobbi-Jo Edwards, I think I'm reasonably well qualified to comment about the guy's career. And the point remains, proven world class fighters >>>>>>>>>>>>> unproven Ameribums feasting off cans!

****ing big wrestler though, if he gets Calzaghe in a bodyslam I'm not sure Calzaghe can kick out before the three count.

forget that high workrate ****, joe will not throw alot of punches if hes getting hit an hurt.i think chad is to big and to strong and to hungry for joe.he is faster and a better slicker boxer as well.

that fight would be like joe vs a prime roy at 70 percent.chad would be to much for him and might make him look silly.at the sametime joe dont need that fight, he should just retire i think.

Why wasn't Dawson too big and strong and hungry for Glenn Johnson? Why didn't Johnson 'stop throwing punches because he was getting hurt'?

But now you believe that Dawson will dominate a fighter a level above Johnson?

Has Dawson metamorphised into a different fighter since the Johnson fight?

I think this is all irrelevant anyway.

Calzaghe will probably announce his retirement very shortly.

Johnson should lose at least 8 of the 12 rounds. Johnson could potentially lose 10, maybe 12. Johnson is a simple but determined fighter. Joe would box his socks off.

Joe has become quite good at being a smart pressure fighter. If Dawson retreats and trys to use his skills in bursts, he will find himself consistently outworked. RJJ and X will have prepared Joe well for Dawson. They made Joe think yet Joe still put it on them for 12 rounds.

Calzaghe should face Dawson and retire with loads of belts and a win over the young gun at 175. It would help his career now and his legacy.

Calzaghe would school Johnson and win a narrow decision over Dawson, Dawson has all the tools but lacks the ability to stick to a game plan for the full 12 rounds.

This certainly is ESB, and there aren't any rules or regulations keeping window lickers like yourself away from the keyboard, unfortunately.

How can you criticise Calzaghe's level of competition and then go on to raise the name of a novice journeyman like Chris Henry? At least pick someone in the p4p top 1000.

I certainly think Dawson could beat Calzahge.

Johnson on the other hand would be widely outpointed and part of me wants to see it just to shut certain people up. Though it would do very little for Joe's legacy.

If Joe's at his very best he wins IMO. Chin, skill & experience too much at this point. But Joe's getting old. Its a huge risk, not worth it, never happen.

Johnson has nothing on Calzaghe IMO. Way too slow.

I don't see how Dawson can beat Calzaghe, the two main reasons being, he is much slower, and I haven't seen him show anywhere near the same workrate as Calzaghe. I always find it hard to call when it's a southpaw against a southpaw, but in this fight i just see Calzaghes speed, workrate and experience prevailing.
