So we're expecting Lenroy Thomas's version of Dave Allen to show up on Saturday ?

Embarrassing if true, especially given both the purse he is being paid and the preparation time he has had to prepare, arguably another gift for Bosh.

Thus, 100-90 Fisher has to be the likely outcome here, with the hype train back on track.

Given Dave’s track record I’m not disputing anything said in here but I’d be surprised if he’s messed around again. Didn’t think he drank? Granted could have been hammered in another way.

If he’s messed about then I’d imagine Jamie Moore won’t be in his corner? Well that’s if he has any self-respect.

I said on a thread when this got announced that if Dave went and gave camp 100% and did all his sessions then he’d win this. And I still believe that… to the extent that the posters on here with their inside information may be incorrect (suppose we’ll see that on Saturday night).

Honestly believed in Dave when he said it would be different this time around because of the change in his priorities and outlook on life such as with his kids etc but I suppose it’s all down to himself and what he wants.

Fisher took the right approach by going off and avoiding the limelight/circus of that father of his. He’ll have no excuses for his performance this time around.

Should have been on the Eubank undercard.

Dave Allen is teetotal. If I remember correctly he claims to have never drank before, but he certainly is open about the fact that while he can be gluttonous he does not drink alcohol.

I can believe him being wildly out of shape and having eaten too much but I find it hard to believe he was “hammered”.

My brother goes to uni with Dave's nephew and can confirm people on this thread are talking a load of ****. Dave's never been ripped anyway, let's be right. Nothing wrong with that. He had a virus back in like February and was gutting it out in early camp. He's preparing for this like it's his last chance in boxing. And Dave doesn't touch drink barely ever. I'm expecting him to be a very fit but fat ish bloke in that ring on Saturday.

I don't mean to be disrespectful but I feel like Fisher is low IQ, though his character seems good. His gameplan and punch accuracy was poor. He thought he could just knock out or hurt Allen in the first few rounds like it was Babic or some other tomato can. His jab goes into either thin air or Allen's high guard, when the body is open.

I feel like we've been hearing the same conversation for the last 6 or 7 years

"Dave Allen, he's hard as nails, sparred everyone"
"He wasn't motivated for this one, and he was up against someone with way more experience"
"You can never write him off, look how long he lasted with *hard punching heavyweight x,y,z'"
"He just needs to take the sport seriously, if he does he could get to a decent level"

I swear that cycle has happened about 4 times now

Me and big Dave were at the Greggs steak bake eat off last Tuesday. He ate me under the table, collected his trophy, then polished off a carvery and a keg of Stella at the local Toby.
