Just finished watching Gaspar Ortega v Charley Scott. I remember @PhillyPhan69 saying that there's something about 10 rounders that makes them a satisfying distance. I agree. It's in the same way that 15 rounds is satisfying for championship fights (and 12 is not). What are some classic 10 rounders you've watched over the years from any era?
Can give these a whack... https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/the-war-zone-revisiting-classics-thread-archive.485436/ https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...-its-just-like-déjà-vu-all-over-again.633471/
Just a few I can think of now Ortega vs Paret & Basilio Fullmer vs Lausse Tiger vs Hank, DePaula & Nino Fletcher vs Sabater Hagler vs Briscoe was good too, but not like the ones above. Obviously Gatti-Ward too. @The Morlocks should be amazing at answering this.
For sleepers, try Harry Arroyo - Robin Blake, a not-so-sleeper in Mando Ramos- Sugar Ramos, and maybe Gaspar Ortega - Florentino Fernandez.
This is definitely a classic technical fight, but is it really a classic in the same way Gaspar/Scott is?
Outstanding 10 rounders from the '80s: Boza-Edwards v Roberto Elizondo Tony Baltazar v Robin Blake Curtis Parker v Mustafa Hamsho I John Mugabi v James 'Hard Rock' Green
