You just answered every question I had about your opinions in boxing. I know now to ignore you, because yr ideas are baseless and pure drivel.

Greb is too active for Fitz and out works him.

This very well could be. My point is Fitz is great enough as a fighter (in rare air) and his hitting powers are freakish enough (greatest ever) to stop ANY fighter 175 pounds and under

As a relative newcomer of six months to this exceptional forum, I'm always pleased to see old threads reignited. Not only is it exemplary etiquette (as opposed to the constant repeated heavyweight H2H threads), it's great for me to reread the discussions for the first time.
And for what my humble opinion is worth, I would have Fitz stopping Greb around round 9 or 10. I have both fighters in my top six ever. Greb has leapfrogged a couple as I read more about him. I love a good story, me.

Buy Clompton's book on Greb. An encyclopedic bio of the era of Greb and the man himself any boxing enthusiast must have in their library of pugilism.

The book's something like 40 bucks on amazon. Costs an arm and a leg.

You learn so much about famous and obscure fighters it is worth it. I'm older so I'll pay for what interests me intellectually. Boxing is my hobby. A good book is worth it's price in gold to me.

It's not that I don't want to pay for it, it's more like I can't. Unfortunately I have a load of responsibilities and other stuff to pay for as a broke college student.

Oh yes. Been there brother. Try to get your local library to buy it then check it out. They do buy books requested. If need be, have friends go to same library and request it also.

Feel your pain. I'm living in Asia these days. Postage would make that bad boy 70 dollars. One day :)

Clompton/Klompton posts here. I argue w/ him all the time :) maybe he could suggest other resources to get his book. Well worth it.

There is a book on Greb by Bill Paxton called The Fearless Harry Greb. Costs $10 as a Kindle download. Has very good reviews but I haven't read it myself. A cheaper alternative....

You have no idea....you actually believe the crap that was written however unlikely it may be that it is true....just as long as it fits the herculean efforts you seem to believe the era required for everything. Jeffries ran/walked 14 miles a day Fitz 20 WTH do you realize that even with modern nutrition and high calorie diets that anyone who put in those kind of numbers their bodies would break.....even when I was a young soldier in an assessment and selection for an elite unit we would come close to those distances but everyone paid for the sheer amount of exertion many lost 30-50lbs in the 23 days even eating 7000+ calories a day those distances even with tons of sleep and calories are detrimental that is the purpose of the A&S they break you down to your basic character....but in those days this was normal during that era the laws of health did not apply....jeeez Has it ever occurred to you that what is written was for public consumption and not true?? but hey you would have had to have been physically active and a fighter to separate the wheat from the chaff. That's OK when I went t college academics are just as completely out of touch with reality and stood on the shoulders of other academics for information but were not seekers of knowledge and truth....yes there are alot of academics who are lazy and simply pass on status quo information where once upon a time they sought to prove or disprove theories in efforts to advance it.
