hey ashley we all see how good he is... thats not the issue. I was on board the train for many a years but have since jumped off after empty promises and lacklustre opponents. :)

But you are welcome to join me on the Vic Darchinyan train. This train seems to be going full steam ahead!! :D

    Hi Haymakers, thanks for replying.

I just wanted to know what you'd say (anyone who has trained there) about the atmosphere there, do they have many beginners/casuals or do they focus predominantly on pro/amateur fighters? What's the average training session like over there, as in more focus on group sessions or split with on-on-one time with the coach? Also, this may or may not be a stupid question but notwithstanding the name of the place, what is the cross-section of people like over there?

A few of my questions I'd best call or drop by myself but I just wanted to hear from others who have trained there or are currently training there.

As of around december 08 the gym has been pretty much dead, you still get guys coming in to train but not all that many these days, last year there was a full time trainer but he has since left, now a trainer only comes in at 6:30 pm every wednesday, he is a good trainer, they are also looking to get a few new trainers in, hopefully that happens soon.

they charge 20 dollars a month membership which is pretty cheap, which also includes a full weights gym upstairs,

the whole gym is open from 11am till 8pm, the guys that train there are easy

the guys that train there are top guys, easy going, there is a mix of experienced boxer to newcomers,

what is your experience, weight class?

ah that's a pity that the boxing part of the gym would go down that road.

I did a little bit of kickboxing many many years ago (17 years ago now) and sparred a little during the class but in the last couple of years my health hasn't been that great. The situation has improved a bit though and lately I've been looking to get back into some training. I can still throw a good punch and some decent combinations but my reflexes are all shot at the moment.
