This would be alright, but the co-main event of James Figg vs. Bermane Stiverne would be sure to steal the show.
Fitzsimmons wins on points better at setting traps, better boxer more versatile, harder puncher, Monzon is good but a basic fighter, he doesn’t have a good defence, he doesn’t feint, he has very slow feet and hands and relies on controlling the fight and making his opponent fight his fight and and I think Fitzsimmons would figure him out and outbox him
I consider Monzón the antithesis of "basic", personally. That he was so effective in spite of his dearth of speed and one-shot power speaks to his adaptive well-rounded versatility and his disruptive awkwardness. If anybody is to be called a one trick pony in this one it'd be Rubes.
I don't think Fitzimmons could be considered a one trick pony at all, he fought various of his key fights in differents ways, scored KOs with various series of punches, at various lengths into the fights.
If Fitzsimmons was a 1 trick pony, he would not have been able to beat people who had like 40lbs of weight on him, he had to have more in his arsenal to make up for his disadvantages
Fitzsimmons by stoppage, he did terrible things to smaller fighters he faced and Monzon would be smaller than most of his top victims.
A I don’t consider Monzon a 1 trick pony, just basic, I consider a Bowe basic but not a 1 trick pony as well
