Knew I'd seen it before .... here it is uploaded on Feb 2nd 2013 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GaMHsq_XPY
He comes across A LOT better in that one. His lists aren't bad, if you can accept a clear favouring of the old-timers. Reminds me of that Tracy Callis guy, his ratings. Truly wonder if the guy was drunk or otherwise brain impaired when he blurted "Ali was a bum" ... then he failed miserably to back it up, and said "Ali was a good fighter" about a minute or two later. I dunno, maybe just trying to catch some attention. It worked.
No, he wasn't drunk or impaired. I've met Tony Triem and he's an asswipe. An asswipe with bad teeth. I saw this interview when it first came out and he made it very clear, even correcting the interviewer that Ali was a bum. I also caught his ratings and how he had Ali at 5 or 6 (someone said 5, so we'll go with that). He's a walking contradiction. Of course he's a bum. We all have total bums at number 5 on our lists.
"Ali's a bum...." Man, this guy is a joke. His all-time lists are pathetic too. It's like boxing ended in 1960 or something for this clown. :nut
The ramblings of this old codger are over two years old. Ellie Suckbach has just decided to re-upload the video like he does with a sh*t load of his videos. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_GaMHsq_XPY Saying Pastor got robbed against Louis is like saying Machen got robbed against Liston.
I like the "he's a bum", no middle ground with this guy. Either you're the greatest or a bum (kind of like ESB).
Its a damn good bum that beats men like Liston, Foreman, Frazier, Jones, Shavers, Lyle, Norton. What does it say for the men he beat?
He made a few good points, but a lot of what he said was nonsense.. Jeffries being the hardest puncher of all time? D'Amato the greatest trainer? Dundee being a PR man rather than a great trainer? He also neglected to give Ali credit for his wins over Liston, Patterson, Foreman, Quarry, etc, but focussed primarily on his gift decisions while being past his prime... Sensationalist might be the best word to describe him.
How can anyone call themselves a "boxing fan" and criticize a boxer for boxing? he obviously thought that power and knockouts were everything.
The vast majority of boxing fans are like that, young and old. In the case of the Pastor fight, not even close (or paricularly competitive.)
