i disagreed with the stoppage. forrest was up early. 3 or 4. and the ref just waved a finger in his face and called it off. atsch
Doesn't matter if he was only up at 3 or 4. After every knockdown a referee will look into a fighters eyes to see if he has his senses and be able to protect himself without getting seriously hurt. Forrest should have stayed down longer and took the count to clear his head, then got up just before 10. His eyes were glazed, and he never protested the stoppage, which is usually a sign of the correct decision by the referee.
I agree, although I havnt seen it in years, I remember Forrest didn't seem right at all. Wasn't it a right that sent him down?
he'd just been clocked ffs. he was never gonna be 100% was he. the ref should have asked him to walk forward. instead of that pathetic finger he waved in his face. :yep
I'd lean more towards it being legit than an early stoppage although I can see the debate over it. He looked completely out of it when he got up, no legs under him, glossy eyes and a blank "duh" expression on his face. I can see the argument for an early stoppage but I don't agree with it.
if this was 8 or 9 in the count then i can understand it. but don't forget the ref was at 3 or 4. forrest was up and obviously still a little dazed. but he was hardly a total goner. it was a **** instruction from the ref. i've never seen a referee do that before actually. most refs ask u to walk forward or look into your eyes and ask u if ya ok. that ref didn't do that. :bart
