I agree, Froch is annoying as hell outside the ring, but he is a warrior and comes to fight everytime. AA and his ferrari, are just
No way Bute or Pavlik jumps into this cluster****. It looks like the plan is to just skip Ward's third round fight because he's already clinched a spot in the semis, and have him take an easier fight in Oakland in late November.
I do not think my scenario is very likely, but if Showtime could pull it off, it would be a respectable way to move the tourney forward.
I guess so, but I'm guessing part of the reason Johnson signed on was because he knew he'd be facing Allan Green. Johnson will fight anyone anywhere, so I don't doubt he'd be willing to fight someone better if he's duly compensated for the change, but it could get pretty expensive. And there's a reason Bob Arum was never involved in the tourney to begin with. He would just complicate things a lot.
You think Golovkin can fight at 168? At 160 he's pretty muscular. He actually looks like he coud drop a few pounds. Not all the way to 154, but he looks like he should weigh in around 157. (On a side note, off topic, but Golovkin reminds me of Little Red in the respect that he just taps guys and they go down and don't recover.)
At the beginning of the tourney, Froch was the guy I loved to hate. I think that's why I initially thought the Dirrell decision was so bad (now, I see it as close, but reasonable). However, I have grown to respect Froch a great deal over the last year and he has climbed onto my list of "must watch live" fighters.
Booradley: great ideas, but at this point I think the Super Six is pretty much unfixable. Dirrell and Ward obviously don't think there's enough money to fight each other. Have the winner of Froch vs. Abraham be the mandatory for Ward. It's a little akward, but it will accomplish the goal of one true champion in the division and Froch vs. Abraham is already so close to happening there's no point in messing with it now.
